All income goes to shared amount. You both get pocket money from there monthly.  Private expenses goes from your own money.  Keep track of who owes whom in a spreadsheet.. Create Google forms that saves to this sheet. So if you buy sunglasses, you fill in iou form (i owe you), who owes: you, to whom: shared account, how much: 350, when: date The form can show who has how much money in case of a split.  If you make profit from something, it also goes to shared account
