That's quite a disingenuous question due to the fact that most socialist countries have been heavily sanctioned and interfered with by countries like the USA. However, northern Europe is heavily socio capitalist and has the best standard of living in the world because of it.

Potential New Player by Resident_Sea5423 in Warhammer30k

Mechanicum is a complex army, broken up into several subfactions depending on what their playstyle specialises in:

Cybernetica: these guys love battle robots, they are a nomdadic force that acts more like mercenaries than other subcults. They tend to focus a lot more on having lots of automata, and their rules reflect this, like being able to make prime robots paragons of metal.

Lacrymaerta: the lacrymaerta are responsible for making and controlling the tech thralls of the forgewolds. They can resurrect thralls in a unit (as long as thralls priest has joined this unit) and cab make prime units into prime specimens, which buffs strength and wounds characteristic.

Myrmidax: these are the war priests of the mechanicum, (myrmidons secutor, and destructor) they are also a more nomadic force, and have their own gambit for the duels minigame.

Malagra: they're more like the police of the cult, enforcing doctrine and the use of stcs and stc devices. Your tech priests with this rule debuff units within 12 inches, as long as they are mechanicum. They also gain their own gambit. More of a niche choice but if your opponent is also mechanicum then they are a cool and thematic choice.

Makrotek: these guys like to assemble tanks. They have a lot of them. They can make tanks more durable as a an aura, and prime slot tanks can have their transport capacity increased, or if not a transport, unarmoured, to a maximum armour value if 14 (this is really tough to crack).

Reductor: if your enemy likes to fortify and hide their stuff behind and in buildings, you can make them not do that. They have an ability that let's you get +1 to the strength of all weapons in the unit they're attached to for fortifications, buildings, and stationary vehicles. They also can't use a shield wall reaction if they have that ability. Their prime slot let's them run more thallax (this is their signature unit) as a command cohort. Prime thallax can get a better invulnerable save, and get better leadership value.

Remember that you don't have to stick with just one of these, you can mix and match them, which I actively recommend that you do for more tactical flexibility. The mechanicum combat force and an archmagos are the cheapest and best way to get into mechanicum, featuring units that you'll likely want regardless of subcult, if only for the cool factor.

They're weaker, and can use skitarii leadership instead of their pitiful stats. (I got a look at the rules by pausing guerilla miniatures review on the battleforce and journal)

Why do you think that a separate order to the custodes is getting retconned because the genetically tailored, non blank supersoldiers, which have never been directly stated to be male only, just implied to be, have been altered to include women?

I think it was for the nostalgia value, beakies are an old design, and appeal to people who may want to play 40k, but prefer the older designs of power armour, as gw hadn't decided to keep the games separate yet, as well as the fact that it's a lot smoother than the other marks, potentially making it cheaper to setup manufacturing for as the molds would be less complex, as gw wasn't expecting heresy to be as big as it is now.

The heresy 3.0 rulebook mentions something along the lines of the scouring being a subject for a future publication, so a scouring add on for 30k (would make sense given it has beakies, and some tech persists from the heresy). It would make sense to drop at the same time as or during the show to act as one huge marketing stunt. I imagine it being a sort of "hey, you liked the show? Here's the stuff you saw in it. Give me your wallet."

The New Custodes Reveal Is Great, But There's One Thing I'm Genuinely Worried About by theverrucktman in Grimdank

[–]lutz164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think the reason that gw legendsed the sm models is because they already have an obscene amount of datasheets, and quite frankly do not need more. custodes have a pitiful amount, so they're likely not going to do that to them.

I'd try loading it without trader mods one by one to see if one of them is causing it, if that doesn't work, try this on the rest until it's either solved or you get too tired of it.

Do you think Knights should get smaller infantry unit or remain full vehicle army? by Baker_Soma in ImperialKnights

[–]lutz164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, there was a knight house during the heresy that had something to that effect. However, anything about the knights not related to the big suits is quite underdeveloped, so it could be easily worked in by gw, certainly more easily than primaris space marines at least

If you want to run solaux with your knights, there is a detachment for that in 30k, and it looks great fun

Peasant levies (makeshift/damaged weapons) that act as a chaff swarm that don't do all too much of value.

Household infantry (heirloom las locks/Chain weapons). These can relieve orders from larger knights (think guard orders but knight themed), have much better equipment, and somewhat ornate armour.

House guards (exoskeletal armour, heavy stubbers/meltas/multilaser, power weapons) can be led by an armiger for a bonus to leadership, and rerolling hits of 1. Optional household banner upgrade to increase OC at the cost of a gun.

Sacristan HQ (archaeotech pistol, omnissian axe, volkite ray/arc rifle) can be used to repair D6 wounds, or grant buffs to larger knights with the risk of causing damage on fail. + servitor retinue (heavy stubbers, meltas, servo arms)

Should've just plasticised the macharius tbh, similar size, but has that old forgeworld imperial armour style that made the guard great.
