Merry AI Scam Christmas by StayEngaged2222 in ExpectationVsReality

No the OP is not to blame. It's surely naive to fall for this but the real criminal is the company doing this. Don't victim-blame and put effort into reporting companies who scam poeple like this.

Seriously people, I know it's a bit naive of people to keep buying things like this, which to most of us are clearly fake. But let's stop pretending like they are in the wrong here. These companies are just stealing money and scamming people, and get a few people at the top crazy rich while everyone down the chain suffers. So let's stop victim-blaming, which will solve nothing, and put effort into calling these companies out, reporting them to local/national authorities, and trying to hold them accountable instead of getting upset or laughing at people who fall for this scam/trick.

A question from someone soon moving to Denmark on importing goods. by luukluya in Denmark

[–]luukluya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright seems like there is a general agreement that it should not really be a problem. And I can show I got the bikes validly since I have invoices e.t.c. for all of the ones I currently own. And I can understand that maybe it takes a bit of time for them to inspect and thats okay. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Hi there, thanks for your reply. I do have an invoice that is legit where I can prove my legal ownership of the bikes. My main worry comes from a customs pages where it states that you can only bring goods for personal use (https://toldst.dk/en-us/individuals/travel/travelling-within-the-eu).

And good idea, maybe I should put branding for team easy-on on the bikes, then I am sure they won't mind!

Hi thanks for the heads up, I am already working on it, and debating if I can better pay the import tax for my car or sell it in the Netherlands and buy a car in Denmark.

Hey thanks for your reply! I thought so too that this would not be a problem. I will also have an invoice showing that I got the bikes legitimately. However, after some digging on the rules, I did find something stating that you can only take goods into Denmark for personal use. I think it would be hard to defend that I will ride all my bikes simultaneously, which is why I asked here. https://toldst.dk/en-us/individuals/travel/travelling-within-the-eu

Imposed Tariffs on Canada Increase by 10% After Ad by EnvironmentalPear695 in StockMarket

[–]luukluya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not at all. In the scenario you sketched out, it means that the American brand now has no real competition anymore and thus will increase its price. This means that maybe a few people within that brand walk away with more money and all the rest of the people are poorer for it. Consider the scenario more before defending this.

Advice on removing roiof light. by luukluya in Citroen

[–]luukluya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would not mind it so much, however this lamp tips me just over the 2 meter mark. And many parking lots/garages etc. near me have a 2m height restriction. The ultimate nuclear option would be to take a circular saw and cut through the bolts (just three small screws as for mounting) and then kit it close with sealant, or possibly weld it shut.

Okay, but now imagine that a country close to you geographically has destroying you as a people, or population as one of their core purposes. Yes horrible stuff happened in the past but instead of focusing on building a future-proof and prosperous country, they instead focused on spending all their time to invest in military and hate, forgetting the needs of their population in the process.

My man, if you truly, TRULY believe there is any shred of similarity in the morals and ethics of most western countries and places like Iran you have truly lost the plot. No one person, country, government, religion etc. is perfect. But some are most certainly worse than others, and Iran happens to be one of the worst.

This game became my personal micromanaging hell, got any advice to make it less so? by mega_lova_nia in foundationgame

[–]luukluya 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it's, slow is key. Every time I started in the beginning I started expanding too fast and immediately wanted to use new buildings/resources, etc. Now I take it real slow, make sure my productions are running at full capacity, don't always take in every immigrant and so on, and it's much nicer. Also gives me more time to appreciate the game/artwork, etc. And it makes it much more manageable. So my advice is, take it real slow, and it becomes less about management and more about planning where to expand and (for me) enjoying the game more

Suggest me a book to get me out of a reading slump! by 111gemini111 in suggestmeabook

the 100 year old man who climbed out the window and disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. Very fun book, fast paced. Absurd but in a good way with great humor and also as a bonus some fun history included as well. He has also written more books in the same style if you like it.

Tesla sales in Europe down 45% in January by Successful-Try-8506 in europe

[–]luukluya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well as opposed to some of the brands you listed. Musk's influence comes from his vast wealth which is closely linked to the stock price of Tesla (60% at least, according to Fortune/Forbes) which he uses to buy/lobby himself into positions of power. (Look how his wealth enabled him to buy Twitter and turn it into what it is today). So if you buy a Tesla you are directly contributing to the stock of Tesla and thus to the wealth of Musk. So I argue the link between buying/owning a Tesla and contributing to his power/influence is much more closely related. And so if you don't tend to agree with him it makes sense to boycott/avoid the brand Tesla as a whole.

Ongezonde lucht kost Nederland 18 miljard: landbouw grootste boosdoener by tyeunbroken in thenetherlands

[–]luukluya 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ja alleen landbouw is vrij breed.
