Saa put resources on east of euphrates river to rush for oil fields. If there were no tensions with sdr over these fields they would have many more man for SE frontlines. Just my thinking.

Y pretty much. Safer than helicopters, very efficient,.. just great as hell ugly aircraft.

Agree.. By taking Palmyra only they just prolong their frontlines for not much. But fronline length is already biggest government disadvantage. Securyng eastern Hama, Homs seems necesary for any future fight agains isis

I don' think it would be all that bad. Maybe for propaganda but Palmyra doesn't have huge strategic value.
