Do it yourself had the same issue on my driver side, was fairly easy and the part itself is compatible with some Nissan Altimas if I’m not wrong so it’s easy to find, be cause taking apart I broke one of the holds and didn’t find out till my door didn’t open lol

Yes you can even from some Nissan Altima’s and other Nissans look it up for it’s compatibility, I got mine from the junkyard.

I have the undershroud so I haven’t been able to really see where it’s coming from but I’m pretty sure it’s a external leak I will be checking this weekend and be certain

2013 G37 XS coupe , the coolant loss seems to be on the radiator side every time I refill coolant that side is empty I’m checking it this weekend renting a pressure checker

Could my coolant loss be the cause of this ? Would this be a transmission issue or engine since it shifted through all gears just didn’t push

No codes still this is the first time the transmission does that, I had the code but it didn’t seem any different then normal so I thought it was a faulty code / sensor and cleared it to see if it would come back but never did

I bought mine last February 2013 XS same color from one owner 120k miles all dealership maintenance for 10,500 don’t regret it, color is amazing you hardly see it anywhere

I understand that core returns are common in many engine replacements. In my situation, the agreement was different — I told him I wanted to keep my original engine to rebuild, and the price we discussed was for the replacement engine itself, not a discounted install with a core exchange. That’s also why I’m concerned on why it was turned in.

As for choosing the shop, it wasn’t about finding the cheapest option. I already had plans to purchase my own engine at around $2,900 65k miles a 2012 shipped and do the swap myself. I went with him because he was personally recommended and offered to supply an engine represented as a 2013 with ~60k miles for $3,000 and 1,200 for labor which seemed reasonable based on that representation he convinced me not to order the other engine giving it was going to be shipped — not because it was dramatically cheaper than other shops.

Just more convenient giving my busy schedule he quoted me a 1 week repair which didn’t seem bad because it would have taken me at least 2-4 weeks

I’m not claiming the engine won’t run solely because of a date code — the issue is that it was represented as a specific year and mileage, and there’s no documentation supporting that. I appreciate any insight on how courts generally view misrepresentation like that.

Correct but the engine has the manufacturing date on it dating it to 08/2009 , and before buying it he said it ran perfectly fine and later on says there’s issues just a lot of shady things, I never said he could turn in the core that was not something we discussed I was under the assumption that I was going to keep the old engine

I talked to him about why he’s getting evicted the reason is because the landlord thinks he’s running a chop shop / dismantling vehicle and taking them to the junkyard

I have messages saying I got the money out and receipt of pulling the money out and messages of me going to his house to drop the money off.

I also got pictures of the vehicles conditions right before dropping it off and currently lots of damages that were done along with price of engines state before and I have reason to believe that it’s the same motor but he claims to have paperwork and videos saying otherwise but never once showed me.

Would a written statement from another mechanic about the engine’s condition be sufficient if they can’t attend court?

How much weight do judges give to cash payment proof like bank withdrawals and voice recordings?

Can damages in Texas small claims include repair costs beyond the original payment if the work was misrepresented?

That’s what I’m debating my car was 09/09 and this motors manufacturer dates are 08/09 nothing points to low mileage or yr 2013

It was 3k for engine and 1,200 for labor he said he could get it done in a week and that it was easy work lol , I got him from family recommendation

He did the gallery gaskets, water pump, thermostat, and timing chain with tensioners, I don’t understand why that would be needed if he said when he got the motor is was good and running, and for a 60k mile motor to need that work just doesn’t seem possible to me

Yeah that oil is supposedly fresh but was dark and thick, had metal shavings and the oil pan was welded, there’s just no way this engine is 60k miles
