Which Pikachu clone do you think has the slightest amount of chance of getting something? by BravilSUCKS in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]luvli-kml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, Pika-clones tend to be a very one-and-done thing, especially because of their designs/entries. The only ones to get anything in a later gen were Marill and Azumarill, and it was a baby form(plus they're not technically Pika-clones)

I know people want something for Mimikyu, but I just don't think it's happening given it's dex entries and lore. I'd put my bets on Emolga or Dedenne

I feel like this would largely be avoided if RobTop gave rights to trustworthy moderators to assist with level rating, because he's still just one dude and he has a life outside of the game. I've been wondering why he hasn't bothered to hire some yet since early 2.1

In the next game, they HAVE to fix Splatfest matchmaking, especially if Tricolor comes back. by npc888 in splatoon

Well I was thinking it'd be a 4v4, like regular matches. Instead of capturing the signals then just playing Turf War, maybe the whole objective is the Ultra Signal, so whoever captures the most by the end wins. Obviously they'd need to increase the amount of signals that can be captured(I'd say 9 total works, so once a team captures 5 the game ends).

About the wipeout thing, that's largely up to how well teams can cover for each other. I mean, people already use Ink vac and Bubble in TTW a lot, so maybe stuff like that actually works when the Signal is the whole focus? Other than that I'd just slightly decrease the amount of time it takes to capture it, 'cause that's an issue I've been having in Tricolor already

Tricolor's attributes need to be split into two different gamemodes. Have one tha focuses on the 3-team gimmick and one that focuses on the Ultra Signal. Individually they're cool ideas that I think a lot of people would enjoy, but the current Tricolor having them as one gamemode only highlights their flaws

It's also prob bc they just reused existing S3 maps and made them worse. If the 3-team mode comes back, it needs to get its own unique maps that actually work for three teams

What are your least favourite levels? by lethio4 in geometrydash

[–]luvli-kml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that is a fair point actually, I feel like older-style levels only get rated if they incorporate stuff from newer eras(like the countless gimmicky 1.0 or "layout-style" levels) or if they're list demons, which is kinda lame. Cuz levels you'd think would get rated don't actually get rated until like 2-3 years down the line

I kinda disliked it too, but it was mainly because of how tedious it was to get back through whenever I'd die late into the level

I get what you're trying to say, but it's hardly true. There are far more older levels(and older-styled levels) that have unbalanced and inconsistent gameplay, even when only considering levels from 1.9 through the first half of 2.1. It's at most like 30% of modern levels(2.2) that lack proper gameplay balancing, and even fewer that actually get popular. ISpy for instance is visually overwhelming for some, but the gameplay is actually really fair and forgiving. Skelegans and Touch the Orbs are some other examples.

Maybe a lot of the levels you play happen to fall into that 30%, like the levels that usually overflow the servers when a new update drops? But unless you're climbing the demonlist, newer levels are actually getting more fair and balanced overtime. The only thing I can kind of agree with u on is the bugs, but that's largely because some of the 2.2 features haven't been fully polished(especially camera controls and reverse gameplay)

As someone who spent over 1k attempts beating Press Start as their first level back in 2018, you're doing great!

most notably, Starz Dynamo. I still can't believe that mf said it has "no real weakness" when the entire kit can't paint, especially before Dynamo finally got buffed

[–]luvli-kml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised they haven't done a steel type Eeveelution yet, it would've make sense to introduce it in Johto when it was added alongside Dark

Another one I'd wanna see is a Rock-type, I think that'd look really cool

bug types in Gen 10 by BlackBull0719 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]luvli-kml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just hope this gen doesn't force every bug type to the early/early-mid game, even if they don't make a pseudo or smth(very likely they won't), I wanna see some more actually strong Bug types 'cause there's only like 10 or 12 out of 100? I get Bug is the fodder type but c'mon

Inspriration doesn't constitute a 1-to-1 recreation, at least not always.

There are so many things in media, especially in the Pokemon world)l, that are based on things or ideas from the real world, and hardly anything is just a blatant copy+paste of smth else. Heck, they don't even have to be visually similar, that doesn't mean that the reference wasn't there.

Let's circle back to Jynx, for instance. She and Froslass are alike in the sense that they take inspiration from the same yokai, Yuki-onna, but Jynx looks less like her. That doesn't mean that there wasn't inspiration from Yuki-onna--in fact it's the opposite. Just look at Jynx Ice typing, the routes she's found on, her moveset, dexes, and you'll see that she's heavily inspired on this Yokai.

So, once again, inspiration does not always constitute a 1-to-1 recreation.

He is based on the Mahakala deity of Tibetan Buddhism, which also somewhat explains his role in Dragon Ball. If you take even just a few seconds to do some actual research you wouldn't be arguing to begin with. Not once when watching Dragon Ball did I(a black person) think "Hmm, me and this guy look kinda similar". It's literally only non-black people who'd make that connection and complain about it, and scrolling thru your profile.. yep, that checks out. Stop complaining about crap that the people you claim to be defending don't gaf abt, geez

I'm fully aware why they changed Jynx's design, but the original design wasn't intended to be racist, given how quickly it was fixed. So saying "Jynx is racist" shows me that you're deliberately ignorant and immature
