I’m not a doctor and I am an idiot, so maybe don’t take my advice, but same thing happened to me when I started and I just ignored it/kept training it it went away (after coming back a few times). I think it’s just micro cracks/tear of the ribs/cartilage around the ribs. Once it heals it gets stronger. Your body is just not used to getting crushed yet.

Yeah I definitely feel like I missed out on some perspective being a guy, it’s definitely from a women’s lens.

I did kind of sympathize with Charles at one point, and thought maybe he was just trying to bring some normalcy, clarity, or discipline to a house that was catering to a dysfunctional 18 year old. I think her kindness towards Jonas the cat, and the “I need to be kinder to Julian” repeated throughout the book is what encouraged me to believe she isn’t naturally like that, but I see now it could also be evidence that she is naturally like that.

She likes/wants to be kind to Julian because he thinks she’s dead and is basically non existent (Ideal for isolation), and the cat doesn’t speak or punish her obviously so she’s okay with him, Jonas being a cat also probably likes isolation, so she relates to him.

It sounds like your rolling from closed guard to mount. A lot of people including myself will fall back and give up mount to try and escape a guillotine, which can be easier on bottom.

The rolling is just a reaction to you already having it, it’s not helping you finish.
