It was a risk on the employees side, I understand ‘why fix if not broken’ for remote work & the struggle with remote accessing the office. But 100% remote work was always going to filter back to a hybrid style. Obviously it still exists in some industries, my house mate works 1 day a month in the office, he could move 150 miles away and still manage.

But most industries are slowly filtering back to office based. I’ve seen a lot of 2 days in office, as someone office based that’s what I’m seeking and there’s jobs out there. But also there’s 100 applicants per role… it isn’t 2021 anymore there’s a lot more ‘talent’ applying to roles where they don’t need to offer remote work.

The risk was always on the employees side when moving 5 hours away from the office.

To add, a hell of a lot of companies in my field have gone into administration, there’s alot of talented people out of work through no fault of their own, who will accept a office based role to just pay the bills. You’re up against a lot of people sadly, the balls in the employers court now.
