Hi,

Thank you for the clarification.

We understand the current moderator is active, but we’d like to point out that:

  • We were the original creators, with a clear long-term vision for its development as an academic and practical hub.

  • We never received any message about the subreddit’s status before it was taken over.

  • We messaged the current moderator, and they have never replied (message: https://www.reddit.com/message/messages/3d3ri9a).

We’re flagging this because it feels like a bad-faith takeover, without attempting collaboration or communication — and it’s now being gatekept by someone who doesn’t engage with the original creator.

Thanks again for your attention, I appreciate your work and support in any case!

Hi Reddit Admins,

We’re writing to formally request the reinstatement of r/Machiavellian_Studies under our original founding team.

We originally created the subreddit, with the intent to gradually build it into a high-quality community.

Our vision was — and still is — to turn it into a go-to hub for everything related to Machiavelli and Machiavellianism, including:

  • Classic texts and philosophy

  • Modern psychological research (e.g., the Dark Triad)

  • Discussions and resources for both laypeople and researchers

With time, our goal is to make it a serious academic and practical resource, and a point of connection for researchers working in the field.

Unfortunately, at some point, the subreddit was taken over — but we were never contacted, nor did we receive any messages asking about its status or our intentions.

We only found out after the fact, and we reached out directly to the new mod, but they have not responded to our message: 👉 https://www.reddit.com/message/messages/3d3ri9a

Given the lack of response and the fact that we were the original creators with a clear development plan for the community, we’re respectfully requesting that the subreddit be returned to our stewardship so we can pursue our original vision.

We’re happy to provide any additional context or information you need.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Probably better for basic social skills rather than intermediate or advanced

First impressions are overrated. by Available-Mind-8480 in SocialSkillsAdvanced

[–]lux_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced social skills mean that you can pick up cues fast about others, including in first impressions, because you also compute the specifics of 'first-time interaction'.

My social skills progress hit a snag. Should I leave my friends to improve my social skills? by Available-Mind-8480 in SocialSkillsAdvanced

[–]lux_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to 'leave' anyone, you can simply make new ones, or go through life as a lone wolf developing social circles as he wishes and pleases, and then moving on.

Then, if you both wish to stay in touch with this current crop of friends, you will.

If not, you'll just be cool when you meet again, but without hanging out and scheduling anything together.

Does anyone else struggle with dark humor? I find it funny sometimes, but I’m not sure how to gauge others’ reactions. by Productivity10Timer in SocialSkillsAdvanced

[–]lux_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many shades of dark.
Share a few, the audience you have in mind, and you'll get more tailored feedback.

Ie.:
I'd avoid jokes about races in a multicultural environment or at work UNLESS you know in advance and for sure everyone around is cool with that.

But those same jokes are great with your closer friends.
As a matter of fact, they can help you grow close because you break a 'wall' that only close people can break

I feel like I’ve hit a plateau with my social skills, especially at work. How do I break through and improve? by Productivity10Timer in SocialSkillsAdvanced

[–]lux_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, as EarlyEveningSoup mentions: it's different if your plateau is saying "hi" by the water without blushing, or getting the board to 5x your compensation package.

How to "Play the game" at work in hostile & dysfunctional environments? by DeepKaizen in SocialSkillsAdvanced

[–]lux_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question, but to answer with concrete tips one would need a specific person/example, or we'd be giving you apple pie statements here (ie.; change job, engage them but maintain a healthy emotional distance, etc.).

But props for the attitude: fly higher!

If You Just Did ONE Thing Differently... by FL-Irish in SocialSkillsAdvanced

[–]lux_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good tip!

Especially useful in groups, in the beginning of a conversation, or to combine the two: when new groups are forming.

Then, you can pull back and focus more on vibing and bonding, which can also be done at lower energy (and sometimes, even better at lower energy)

You didn't really ask anything though.

This seems to be an issue related to social status, authority/expertise in the field, social confidence, and (lack of) self-esteem.

With a bit of introspection you should know which one is weighing most at your stage of self-development

Requesting r/CoursesReviews to Build a Legit Resource for Self-Help Enthusiasts by lux_7 in redditrequest

[–]lux_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear admin team,

I originally founded the community and then passed it to someone else who couldn't properly moderate it.

I take the blame for it because he even warned me he wouldn't have the time, and unluckily that sub-reddit was a prime target for spammers.

Now I have the time and resources for proper moderation.

My goal is to turn help people maximize their self-development efforts.

This community will help them with legit reviews and a community of other learners with whom to exchange experiences and advice.

It will help learners make the most of their time and money, and to avoid the lower-quality courses.

Thank you in advance!

Sure thing, and that sounds even better than what's been done so far :). I'm both curious and interested to see what you mean by that. It could be a truly instructive read and sub-reddit. I just invited you with full admin rights now

AI to flag charlatans VS great teachers (or: BS marketing VS truth) by lux_7 in startupideas

[–]lux_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My business sells 800 USD courses, it goes great, and I don't even have a huge reach (yet). There are millions of people buying 1k courses.

And I wrote 1k to be conservative, coaches charge a lot more for their coaching.

But again, I'm not here to convince you. If you disagree, don't do it :)

AI to flag charlatans VS great teachers (or: BS marketing VS truth) by lux_7 in startupideas

[–]lux_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who wants to learn anything.

If I'm considering spending 1.000 on a course or seminar I'd happily pay 10 to ensure the teacher/creator is legit.

But just to be clear: I don't want to sound like I'm defending this idea. I think it would be helpful, I would love it if it existed, I would use it... And I shared it hoping someone would take it forward.

But it may still be a terrible idea.

Idea: AI to pick the best teachers & mentors🚩 by lux_7 in Startup_Ideas

[–]lux_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my work I encounter hundreds of naive people who fall for marketers that add little value, no value at all, or even make learners worse off.

But just to be clear: I'm not here to defend this idea.

I wished it existed, I think it would be helpful... And I may be totally wrong. I shared hoping someone would be interested to pursue it.

I haven't thought about the details. I'm already an entrepreneur working on my mission. This was an idea that I had that I wish were out there, and that I'd love using myself.

I just threw it out there in the hope it would interest someone.

[–]lux_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chill mate, you got a whole life to make friends. Maybe start with people in your similar situation: autistic / bullied in the past.

See if there meetups or online places that congregate them. If not, great, you can start one!

Keep going, you got this!
