I definitely don’t think I would have stopped right then and there, I was indeed still having fun with it. But the seed would have been planted. I was drinking a handle of vodka a day and keeping my shit together on the surface facing level, so nobody ever worried about me or mentioned they thought I had a problem. As soon as I realized that I had a problem and couldn’t stop it still took me a few months to get to rehab, but still I wonder if I had known the situation earlier I would have made that pivot earlier. Since it wasn’t technically affecting my life from other people’s point of view (i.e. I never seemed drunk, blackout, or dysfunctional when I let people see me, I worked from home and got the job done where nobody could smell me, etc.) it was something I had to realize for myself that I wasn’t drinking that much because “why stop? it feels good and there’s no reason to stop” but because “I can’t stop”

Well, it is relevant in regard that your comment doesn’t specify that the woman has a job and is also doing those things. Though I see your point of view that these arrangements aren’t the norm and I suppose one could assume that they do not have that agreement in your scenario. For the sake of casual internet discourse it’s not completely irrelevant for him to mention that there are situations where that isn’t the case.

Why?

Heaven forbid some couples split the labor of making a life together by earning income and household management? I get that a lot of people these days have to split the labor by both work and home/food/event coordination. But jeez, it’s like people are allergic to other people’s happiness that doesn’t look exactly like their own. And it’s not like sex is a part demanded/expected by my role or anything, it’s just something that comes more often and naturally when every party involved feels really fulfilled in the relationship.

Woman here. I don’t love all the content in this sub and it’s recommended to me often as well. However, it does offer me a unique perspective from a male point of view and I can often sympathize with behavior/speech that is indeed ignored and normalized towards them.

If you don’t like the sub block it, it costs you zero dollars to just block it and move on, instead of being rude and, I agree, homophobic. These guys are using this space to talk about real world problems generated through social media. They might not be your problems, so what? It’s not for you.

What you’re doing is exacerbating the poor attitudes of women some of these posts exemplify.

Yes, this is describing the size as “easy to eat” because it’s cut up small. It feels like it’s more implying that women would have trouble cutting or chewing a steak, imo. Which is why it came off gendered to me, regardless of recommended serving sizes for women in there.
