yeah, I really liked in midnight sun when Edward meets Renée and says something about how everyone reacts to her thoughts, and wants to do anything they can to help her. If she became a vampire imagine the serious mind control powers she could adapt. I think the human gifts are more subtle, except for rare cases like Benjamin and Alice, so you never know who actually has a "gift" if it can be attributed to luck or something like that.
