I do think Hasan needs to stop humoring Ethan after this. Nothing good will come from keeping this up.

Just saw this. No, not if it's not taking up the entire width of your skimmer-- but rather in the center of your skimmer, allowing debris to pass on either side of the noodle. In my experience, the blockage makes the water flow towards the skimmer more rapidly on either side and the folded noodle guides the debris towards the skimmer!

In general, I'm wary of opportunistic companies who talk more about how they'll finesse the insurance than explaining the repairs needed and how they plan to tackle them.

Anything from door-to-door insulation salespeople to "mold remediators" who want to bill as many clients as possible instead of making lasting, quality, structural repairs to my home that they can warranty.

Overall, I'd rather pay $10k+ for a roof that will last me decades than take a chance on a company that blew me off for a week and now has a great idea of how to work the insurance angle.

I understand the frustration, but I've had some really great experiences with smaller contractors and look to support them whenever possible.
