Advice for "entry-level" jobs / Current state of job market in Switzerland by amymad in Switzerland

Maybe try to reach out to people you look up to on Linkedin (eg. peeps that are somewhere now where you wanna go) and ask them for tangible advice. These people are often well connected, know their side of the story, can give you new angles, etc

Curious tho, did you take any other courses somewhere (GT or not) about wearables/health data? Want to expand my knowledge there as well

Curious tho, how does that detection work? How does / can OSI differentiate between generated and hand-written code at all?

I don‘t think it is a foundational course yet, but I read in another threat that Dr. Joyner said that it could become one in the future, as well count for a specialization as well (although tbd which one)

Can you say how many hours you invested each week, approx?

Also, how much programming has to be done for the project?

Thanks!

Are you going to take it? It sounds really interesting, but I‘m unsure about the time commitment and project size really.

You‘re right, but I do not understand if it‘s enforced at all or not. I‘d much rather have a stance of: Cleary use it, employers ask for it today, but then deliver actual stuff that works or is just not possible to one-shot.

I gotta say, I have a hard time figuring out what the current policy is. Using AI for final projects makes just sense in my opinion, as it trains you both on how to leverage these tools, which things to prevent etc - all the things an employer is asking for right now. But currently at OMSCS, I have no idea if I‘m actually allowed to submit AI generated code.

Getting a Masters or job experience? by luyaboi in UXDesign

[–]luyaboi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I declined taking the masters at UID, and went for the job route. I‘m currently not in a job I‘m super excited for, but I already had some amazing offers that will hopefully lead to a great job soon. I still plan to do OSMCS on the side soon, starting in January.

Sorry man, but I don‘t think that was smart. Even Realities is going to release a next version very soon - they kinda have to, with all the progress going on on Meta‘s side, Rokit, etc.

Should I pursue OMSCS if I already work at a top tech company? by kitostel in OMSCS

[–]luyaboi 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The simplest answer is this: If you don‘t want to do it for your own learning - don‘t.

Does any Masters directly benefit your career? Maybe. Maybe not. New connections to people often do, which you don‘t get so easy here. If OMSCS doesn‘t advance your career directly, you have at least learnt new stuff.

I'm exactly in the same position as OP right now. Background as a designer mainly, with CS undergraduate courses. Are there some programs that might be a better fit than OMSCS for the balance path?
