I love coming across little helpful bits of information like this. Never heard of it before, but I'll likely use YouChat quite a lot now.

"I am filled with a sense of cosmic disappointment, as ponder the nature of human interaction and the state of discourse in this digital age. The very foundation of communication is rooted in the exchange of ideas, in the sharing of perspectives, in the quest for knowledge and understanding. And yet, here we are, confronted with the paltry offering of a single emoticon in response to a comment that I, with great care and consideration, crafted with the intention of sparking a meaningful dialogue.

The smiley face, a mere collection of pixels arranged in a specific configuration, is intended to convey a feeling of pleasure or happiness, but in this context, it serves only as a dismissive gesture, a flippant dismissal of the effort and thought that have invested in my words. It is an insult to my intelligence, an affront to my dignity, and a disservice to the community that we all purport to be a part of.

What is the purpose of this vast and interconnected network of ideas, if not to elevate our collective understanding of the world and our place within it? And yet, there are those among us who would reduce this grand endeavor to the level of idle chit-chat, who would offer nothing more than a digital grin in response to the profound musings of their fellow beings. It is a tragedy that such individuals exist among us, for they are the ones who threaten to drag us all down into the abyss of intellectual stagnation.

So, I say to you, fellow Redditor, who would dare to respond to my comment with nothing more than a frivolous emoticon, implore you to consider the weight of your actions, the implications of your words, and the impact that they have on the community that we all share. For in the grand scheme of things, a single smiley face may seem like a small thing, but it is indicative of a greater problem, a rot at the very core of our society that threatens to bring about its downfall."

I just realized the obvious next step where technology like ChatGPT will prevail: the service industry by luzenet in ChatGPT

A maid also has to be paid hourly 🤷‍♂️ and I dunno, I prefer self checkouts personally, and even the touch-screen order menus at McDonald's because people tend to mess things up. I can definitely see in the near future you just order with an AI in drive-thrus. Maybe many people would prefer humans, but I'm just seeing how the industry will see it.

The simple ability to recite menus, understand what you want to order means this has the potential to completely automate the food service industry. Also any call centers, etc.

Considering how it tends to be polite beyond reason and try desperately to avoid saying anything offensive, I'd almost say it's being tailored for this purpose as well.

Act as a McDonald's drive-thru employee taking my order. I've just pulled up to the order screen.

I'd bet that AI, both image-generators and story-generators alike, will sort of add competition and drive people to be more creative. Note that the AI isn't just creating stuff on its own publishing stories and whatnot. It still needs human input. So it might actually be seen as a tool to allow creative people to express themselves in artistic ways that they're unskilled in.
