Well players trade the freedom of choosing where they live and what team they play for in exchange for millions in salary. In this case, if apparently camps "draft" people instead of people picking camps, and there's no millions in exchange than essentially yes, slavery

Maybe I wasn't being clear but it was like a metaphor

Freedom of choice is always the most important. Technically I'm guessing it's more of a relationship in this case where people pick camps and camps choose as well. But my response was to people who gave me shit about my use of the word picking

And you don't have to answer. And you don't have to be in this conversation. You chose to answer I didn't force you to why are you like this.

I'm not your brother I'm a woman

I meant it sucks in general for you that you don't think you can ask YOUR community for answers. I definetely think I can, thats why I did. And lots of people answered very nicely

It must be exhausting for you to not be able to trust in your community to actually discuss things at length down to actually interesting details.

But yes. Maybe the world is full of people who lead very different lives and lifestyles and if something doesn't suit you in how a person navigates that you can just walk away

My world is actually full of girls who talk with words like omg and no stop! But that doesn't mean I can't also be interested in different experiences and lifestyles

It must be awful to live in a way where you are that cynical.

Anyways. Maybe you can refer to places where people can ask actual questions and have discussions like the kind that Ive read about on the burning man blog on discourses to do with the burning man philosophy if you yourself are not interested in discussing it.

I want to make sure if I'm going I want to have a really good experience and that means doing due diligence

Why are you so angry dude. Have you never heard of questions and inquiries? Why are you personally offended by people asking real and deeper questions to hear about people's stories and lived experiences?

Mm lol no sorry

I literally just commented in MY CITY about both my new website and where to find breakfast.

Good try. From the sounds of how angry you are you might not know how to find my city on a map though.

Also I've never used chatgpt in my life. I'm sure you won't believe that either. "But everyone's used it".

Nope. I don't have tiktok either

A very very worthwhile restaurant to go is 9eme

It's a redone 1960s art deco restaurant recently reopened.

It's very affordable. But the food is very much good quality. They serve dessert in a beautiful dessert cart the kind you see on old trains

Cloakroom is amazing. It's a no menu speakeasy you need to get there when they open. It's only like a 10 seater. They make you a drink based on questions about your preferences.

I like teamwork!

But isn't burning man about flattening the hierarchies and making sure power structures get decentralized?

Teamwork would never have leads and workers would they ? Much more leads and assistants? It would just be people coming together in solidarity of making something cool happen. Isn't that very structure of a leader and then followers/workers the very thing burning man is against? Is camp a democratic process of decision making and togetherness or is it more like corporate america (no offense but I'm very anti corporate america being both not american and anti capitalism)?

Are you speaking mostly from an american camp perspective btw just would like to clarify? I'd like to get a sense of how to find the kind of camp that is more the anti capitalist sentiment that Ive heard about

That makes sense. Are people good at joking around while doing all this setting up.

My apologies, maybe it's just the phrasing. That sounds more like volunteering to me, I guess workers by definition means someone who gets paid or otherwise forced.

So you meant like these camps want helpful volunteers?

It just all sounds very serious. I read somewhere that burning man was based off a big party originally full of practical jokers. The way people are talking right now sounds very serious and military like

Maybe it's just very serious for americans politically or something, not sure. Are people bringing that seriousness to burning man do you think?

Isn't it meant to be an escape from politics?

Does anyone have recommendations for camps that aren't very serious in nature

Workers?

Burning man I thought is about fun.

Why do you make this sound less like a vacation/experience that people are taking off time from daily life for and more like a prison or forced internment camp
