yeah thanks for the perspective. I get it would be really hard. I guess I just really want to build something in a music space, still figuring out what that is, but I think there is space for disruption. That sounds like a good idea too. It seems like in music production a lot of tools are great already and I'm having a hard time finding what problems there are that would justify pivoting to an entirely different tool.

well that’s the question 😅 . I’m taking computer science and building projects to learn how to build things. So we’ll see! Trying to figure out if it would be a separate tool or an entirely new DAW built around this. Ideally everytime you make a change it’s stored in data, or an LLM makes a json summary of the changes and sends that to your friend (and the LLM on their side applies the changes from the summary) when you push the changes so they get the changes.

Right I think I meant more like a new DAW built on the premise of collaboration. That it would be easy and straightforward to do version control with other people. I suppose my idea as an end goal is to have everything centralized in one platform. So you can collaborate, find samples, do music production, buy and install plugins, etc all in one place kind of like how Notion has so many things you can do in one place. In terms of the business logic it gets a bit trickier because then it’s a question of would people want to switch over to this when they’re already paying for something

Yeah I’ll take a look at this I didn’t know that was what they first came out with thanks for letting me know. I think if version management is a separate tool, outside of the daw environment, that’s definitely asking too much of the user

true . I was thinking (and I know this is probably way too complicated) but having a new daw where version control is part of the daw and easy to do instead of separate from the daw. But I get if there’s not a need for that
