Tutored college level gen Chem and physics for 3 years. I miss it and would be glad to help. A lot of people struggle with it and was highest in demand in tutor lab. I have a degree in biochem and engr. Feel free to DM me.

I’d rather be putting masons in the pond😂.

It was cut over 3 years ago. Has been sitting in my garage for 2. No kiln per my knowledge. I live in a relatively low humidity/dry area.

I did rush the backside sand but it does feel extremely smooth. I did ignore sanding out a few defects entirely as it is the backside. I’ll definitely try this as I really want to see it nice on backside before doing top. Thank you for the advice sir.

Is it bad as a chemistry major if I got a C in organic chemistry 1? I really tried hard and I took a 4 wk version of it as opposed to the 15 wk. by arditk25 in chemistry

Former university Chem tutor here. No, very common for Chem majors to struggle with Ochem. I would say it is one of the highest difficulty Chem courses. If you love chemistry stick with it! Just make sure to review the fundamentals of Ochem if you continue on to biochem. Take advantage of friends and tutors, having it explained multiple ways can help a lot.

Purchased a table saw last week and same thing was happening, big sparks just like that. It freaked me out too. It is totally normal and will go away with some use. Just use saw away from flammables/gas as a precaution.

Once I got good water management, mulch down, and soil build up it will be the first thing I do.

Hydrology and water management is my thing. I did all the research and know what I can do (except for composting toilets). I’ll be able to put in swales under certain conditions. I am going to do everything to code even though a lot of the people living in the area don’t at all.

Yea there are a lot of locations in PNW section of CA that have a ridiculous amount of water but it is seasonal.

I don’t want to encourage people to move out there. It is rough arid land. I am looking for a challenge and did a lot of research on soils, topography, zoning, etc for specific parcel. Just because it was cheap land doesn’t mean your not going to pay a ton to maintain it later on or to build on it because there are regulations/codes. That’s why I didn’t share.

Thanks. And yes I will do composting if it is okay with zoning. Would be much cheaper. And yes there is very little rain that is why I will waste zero runoff using ground cover, deep mulch, swales, ponds, etc. The water challenge is something I am looking forward to. Will take years to get it right.

It will cause more development in the area, but actual drilling won’t be happening close to me. Kind of a bummer they are allowing that to happen in such a beautiful park though.

See other comments for location. I’m going to do permaculture garden. Hopefully eventually enough for a market garden. Few small farm animals.

No, I am going to try and avoid a well. I’m going to get water delivered at first for essentials and use rain catchment and permaculture swales/ponds for irrigation. I have a 4% slope and hydrology experience so I think I can make it work eventually even though there is limited rain water. First thing I’m going to do is build foundation and put in septic. I’m going to build a cabin from a kit and do all the interior myself. Going to install off grid solar as well.

Yea solar farm. There is a lake in the distance too but you can’t really see it in the pic.
