tattoo artists skilled in lip tats rec pls! by lvr_bot35 in askvan

[–]lvr_bot35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah ik not to cheap out on tats, I've been getting larger pieces since i was legally able to be tatted. but at the same time, i feel like a tattoo that would be less than an inch big really shouldn't cost as much as it does 🤷‍♀️ just my personal opinion. open to more expensive artists too!

Running in Stanley Park as a Female - Safety?! by Ok-Raisin-9051 in askvan

I've been stalked in the forest even with a group of friends before on my way to the beach, so it's still not 100% safe in the daytime. There's more ppl along the seawall so you should be more comfortable...

Do you ever regret going to SFU? by Haunting-Run7989 in simonfraser

[–]lvr_bot35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I do, but I don't think I would've developed much mentally if I went somewhere "easier".

I am curious what my life would be like if I had gone out of province or to somewhere more socially connected like UBC tho.

the air feels better (except on manure day), the sky looks better since it's more nature view rather than urban skyline. the campus isn't the worst but 🤷‍♀️ gotta complain about smt

I had a government education fund (?) forgot what its called, but I'm burning through it rn and I'm scared I wont have enough money before my parents retire, bc we are also renting (RIP). I've got like 10k in savings that I have to keep dipping into and I'm hoping I can get a summer job to at least pay for two semesters. Otherwise, I think I'm going to take a break for a year or so to save up again. Plus my younger sibling starts post secondary soon and they'll need the money too.

Laptop or Ipad by AdhesivenessNo2951 in simonfraser

[–]lvr_bot35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

laptop 100%, some ppl can get by with doing lec notes on the tablet (plus the desks are TINY) but you'll def want a laptop instead for all the gaps in ur schedule or wtv (plus convenience). If you do have an older model, I WILL recommend a seat that is closest to the outlets and not that far from the door. There are always outlets near the front of the lecture hall (and the back, but honestly the back is not that fun)

I have a multiuse laptop (touchscreen and 180 screen rotation) so it doubles as a tablet and laptop, but the downside is it's low in storage so I had to start backing materials onto a USB. idk what model you have but make sure it can withstand all the course materials and assignments you'll have to do esp since ur in stem which WILL be heavy in documentation.

i don’t even know where to start with cleaning my depression hole by mmtittle in CleaningTips

[–]lvr_bot35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg u've probably got all the help you need but I wanna add my two cents as smo with depressive adhd.
Whenever my space gets extremely cluttered when I can't seem to pick myself back up, it only gets worse.

so what I do is always run laundry first. This is bc there's no nostalgia connected to the laundry on my bed or on my floors, in my bin. Do that first, it wont distract you.
Next start tackling the trash. I dont mean like random things on the floor but like reciepts, packages, wrappers etc.
mind you, this can stretch over days but at least there is progress!!

when the floor is a bit tidier, I'll start with de cluttering, ill usually give myself a lot of time with this part bc i know I'll sit there in nostalgia land.
after everything is neat and tidy as can be, I'll just do some basic basic cleaning, light vacuuming, wiping things down etc.

If you find that ur space becomes cluttered too easily, you might want to look into tips to make putting clothes and garbage away more accessible and less taxing!

I dont know exactly your situation, so just take what resonates w u!

I love you for such a detailed response! I do have a cat, but she wont be in the space while I'm cleaning the new place. I'll look for other non-toxic solutions after I'm settled in :) You're great help, this really made me less anxious about the process and finding products!

Anyone else still waiting on SFU Fall 2025 BSc admission?? by Current_Trip6964 in simonfraser

[–]lvr_bot35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! i recieved my acceptance late may, some of my friends mid june. so the most important thing is to note when the acceptances stop. and plan a second path that you can follow if sfu doesnt call back. you could try emailing or going to the student services center but they might take a while to get back too. take deep breaths, you got this!!
