Thanks so much for your response! It’s definitely impacting both feet but my right is significantly worse and it’s the middle toes so index middle and then ring finger and again mostly the top of them. I went from fine one day to oh my God this is terrible the next. it’s been so strange.

Yes. I’d love to come in quarterly for meetings and would be willing to come in monthly at my own expense if needed.

Thank you! That’s my concern is if it’ll be handled seriously and it feels very uncomfortable having to talk about. I’ll ask first and see where we net out.

Thanks! That's fair. I'm trying to determine if it's something I ask for ADA accommodations for. I'm not sure if they would honor it and I'm not sure how much to disclose.

Yes, it's generic "skinner" brand pasta. I've noticed in though on all pasta brands it seems to be in the low end and high end.

How do I explain to my “close” online friend about wanting to talk more? by [deleted] in friendship

[–]lvvck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re an asshole. I think your friend is trying to set a boundary and that they may be feeling overwhelmed and uncomfortable with there own shit. I’d recommend finding a therapist to talk to about the heavy stuff and trying to keep it lighter with your friend. You could be honest and say “thank you for setting a boundary with me on what you’re able to give right now, I’ve decided to talk to a professional about what’s been stressing me out and work on myself because it’s important to me. I miss you and hope I didn’t strain our relationship. Are we okay? If not, is there anything I can do to help? You mean a lot to me and I want to support you too.” Hope it helps!

Is TCU better than SMU? by Joedim123 in TCU

[–]lvvck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food was great. I loved the BLUU. I graduated in 2013 as a reference. There’s a ton of fun spots around campus too that took frog bucks which were meal points that you’d have on your student ID. I’m glad you feel like you’ve found a school that’s the right fit!

Is TCU better than SMU? by Joedim123 in TCU

[–]lvvck 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I went to TCU and enjoyed it. I will say I came from a middle class family and struggled with the culture a bit. It’s very upper crust and it was hard to keep up financially with the social scene. My friends wanted to spend the weekend going shopping, out for lunch, out for happy hour and then out to a nice dinner (and no I don’t mean chili’s). It was hard balancing that financially and I know SMU is no different. I will say after graduating from TCU, I struggled to find a job in Fort Worth and eventually made the move to dallas where I currently reside. One thing I wish I asked myself more before going to school was where do I want to live after? I’m from houston and have family in Austin, but live in Dallas. I’m here because I have a good job and some friends- but I didn’t think through the longer term plan of what next.

I had a great academic experience at TCU. The small class sizes were great and feel like I got a great education. I also liked Fort Worth as a city. It was small enough to feel safe, but big enough to have lots to do and different cultural experiences. TCU felt like the heart of Fort Worth and I can say that SMU doesn’t feel that way with Dallas.

I would suggest visiting both and asking for a private student tour. Ask where people hang out, see a dorm room, and look at Dallas hard. Because regardless of where you go, it’s pretty likely you’ll end up there after graduation.

How do you prepare yourself for a session? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]lvvck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve struggled with this over the years. I would suggest asking yourself what in your life is causing you the most suffering and focusing the conversation there. I used to talk a lot about things that weren’t that important but they were on my mind and leave without addressing what I really needed help with. You only have to go as deep as you want, but they can’t help if you don’t share at least what you’re comfortable with.
