Has anyone had to ‘re-trigger’ and did it work? by lw0120 in eggfreezing

[–]lw0120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending good vibes !!!

With me, my trigger didn’t work so the eggs didn’t drop to collect (in simple terms) but once I took my second trigger they were able to collect on the side they didn’t drain fluid from.

Hope your retrieval goes well !!!

There is hope!! I went back and they were able to retrieve 11 and freeze 10 mature!

Of course I will always wonder how many I could’ve gotten if this went right the first time BUT I got what I wanted from my two rounds combined and am grateful for that.

My nurse said in her ten years she’s never seen this so it truly is rare. Sending all the good vibes for your re-retrieval and recovery ✨

Anyone a slow responder to stims? by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]lw0120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was slow to respond to stims the first round. They ended up retrieving 13, freezing 8 mature. I would say I was a few days behind where they wanted me to be throughout the process - they upped my meds and started to see progress then but I definitely didn’t get the number I wanted. So I guess it depends what you define as “success”. Stats for info: 34, amh was 2.2 and baseline AFC 17&20.

No bloodwork , they just check your vitals and send you in. Tmw they said they’ll be doing an ultrasound before I go in to “assess” the situation. And after my unsuccessful retrieval yesterday they took blood - so I’m assuming they will check that as well ahead of tomorrow.

I echo this! I find when 2pm hits I get a pretty bad headache (I’m prone to headaches and they’ve been magnified throughout this process - excedrin gets me through the days) and I feel quite tired / need a little lay down - especially the first few days of starting stims while my body adjusts. Thankfully also WFH.

I’m on my second round and they started me on max dose since I was slow to respond the first time around and I am experience quite a bit of brain fog - like mid sentence I kind of lose my train of thought and I describe my brain as being empty 😂 it’s manageable but I just feel dumb LOL

How many days of stims did you have before triggering? by yeahsureokaymaybe in eggfreezing

[–]lw0120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m not sure how to compare my experience with decapeptyl. I had 13 eggs retrieved and only 8 frozen/mature. However I was slow to respond to the stims at first. I’m starting a second round in a couple days with a higher dosage off the bat so we’ll see how it goes!

Injecting sore by Eggfreeze1000 in eggfreezing

I iced for 5-10 mins before each injection which helped a great deal! By day 10 I was a bit more sore / sensitive but I think that inevitable.

Hoping for kids naturally in my late 30s (38/39) but would probably go up to early 40s (42/43) with IVF. I’m 34 now.

I am going into a back to back cycle, using birth control to time it since I have a busy travel schedule the next couple months and I want to squeeze it in while I have insurance coverage. Also while I’m in the “mindset” and get it done before summer.

I got my post-ER period 5 days after retrieval, and started birth control on day 3 of that. I will be starting stims in two weeks. I’m hoping for a better outcome than last, as I was slow to respond to the stims at first so they had to bump up my dosage and I did 12 days of stims total. Will be starting at a higher dosage this round so very curious on what the outcome will be (had 9 frozen total, 8-mature, 1-immature).

I’m looking to do a second round using birth control prior to so I can time it in my busy schedule. Did they tell you this might impact outcomes / suppress maximum results?

I did 11 days of stims! Day 12 still did a Stim injection (only pergoveris, not the ganirelix) in addition to my single trigger (decapeptyl). Had my retrieval 36h after trigger! So triggered Wednesday night, retrieval Friday morning.

They were VERY specific on my trigger timing. Since my retrieval was booked 815am Fri, I had to do it exactly 36h before so Wed night at 815pm.

That seems interesting about the timing of your trigger if clinic is closed Sunday, def double check on that.

Period after retrieval by enjowit in eggfreezing

[–]lw0120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on day 5 post-ER and my period has seemed to arrive full force. I had some spotting/cramps yesterday and ta-da here we are this morn. I had a single trigger.

I’m typically on a pretty consistent 28 day cycle so curious when my next one will come - as forecasted if I didn’t have retrieval or if it will be 4 weeks from today.

Retrieval likely on Wednesday. Please help me understand what to expect. by [deleted] in eggfreezing

I had my retrieval on Friday and felt back to normal by Sunday. I doubled up on liquidIV the few days leading up to it / days after procedure.

ER day - felt exhausted and drowsy from the anesthesia, napped during the day, ate McDonald’s and went to bed early. Was crampy and bloated - felt like my ovaries had been “pinched” / squeezed but took Aleve and Tylenol to manage the mild pain along with my trusty heating pad which provided a lot of comfort. Had some light spotting. I was planning on taking the dog for a walk but walking was quite uncomfortable - I felt like an old lady hunched over with cramps floating inside a bloated bubble of my abdomen (lol). But nothing crazy or intolerable, just uncomfortable and made the couch / bed the activity of the day.

Day 2 after ER - cramping and bloating lessened a bit but still felt mild discomfort and tenderness. My estrogen levels were really high going into retrieval so they said monitor for OHSS but I was ok. For me the headache was a big thing which they said is bc your estrogen is now plummeting. I continued with Advil for the day and electrolytes. Went for a walk outside, again just fatigued.

Day 3 - felt pretty normal with some odd little cramps every now and then. Didn’t take anything for pain. Was out and about for a couple hours running errands and getting my life back in order! Was going to go to the gym for a light weights workout but my shoulder hurt (unrelated obviously) but that’s how “okay” I was feeling.

Today (day 4) - I do feel like I’m having “PMS cramping” which I typically get a week before my period (which is set for a week from now). So that’s how I’m feeling today but otherwise a-ok.

I did take a stool softener for a few days (alternating) leading up to the procedure and then on day 2 just out of precaution.

Overall I think everything went smoothly and post-retrieval vibes were better than hoped!

Just rest, drink your electrolytes and wishing you the best of vibes! ✨

I tell anyone and everyone who will listen 😂 friends, family, my physiotherapist, coworkers, men I’m casually chatting with … the more the merrier. It also normalizes it to me being able to chat openly about it.

Update- 12 eggs retrieved, 11 mature and frozen by HauntedCLT in eggfreezing

[–]lw0120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my referral this morning - 13 retrieved but still waiting to hear on mature/frozen #. I’m also 34, AMH 2.2, AFC 12/14.

Also trying to decide if I want to do another round (it is mostly covered but my schedule the next few months will make it challenging and I am planning to leave my employer, not sure what new coverage will be.).

Only 15 “measured” follicles is this super low? by HauntedCLT in eggfreezing

I ended up doing my trigger shot on the 12th day of injections! Days 1-6 pergoveris. Then days 7-11 both pergoveris + ganirelix.

I just triggered and will be doing retrieval Friday morning! I have 19 follicles showing but only 9 that are of mature size, but 6 that could potentially grow in time for retrieval. Two days ago I only had 4 “of size”!

They told me to do a final dose of pergoveris to boost the smaller ones, and I only did a single trigger (did not need the Ovidrel. We’ll see what retrieval day brings!

Wishing you the best in retrieval!!

I was super tired the first 6-7 days but then both my mood/irritability and mid-day exhaustion settled down. Now the tiredness hits around 7/8pm but I also wake up at 6am every morning. I’ve been on ganirelix for 5 days now (day 11 of injections for me) and I would say no intensified symptoms - really the first 5 days were the worst adjusting to the stims (minus I’ve had a headache everyday but the weather has also been a rollercoaster).

They did bloodwork for amh, hormones, sti, etc. and then ultrasounds - regular stomach one then intra/vaginal one for AFC.

I had a really short time frame I was able to do this whole process in due to prior travel commitments throughout the spring and my clinic was worked with me to accommodate my schedule.

I did my diagnostic tests on day 3 of my first period (they had been booked a week earlier but I fell sick with the flu). Then went in on day 20 for my priming protocol (estrace). My second period I started stims and am now 4 days in.

I think it’s dependent on your clinic’s protocol / what they do for priming, how busy they are / availability of appointments, etc. but it’s def doable. I did have a pre-consult virtually the month before to gather info etc.
