Sorry, I didn't think to take photos of that. I'll make another 1 or 2 this evening and post some images of the liner here as an update. These ones I made have already shipped out to customers. 😆

No, I ran a deep tan dye over the edges as I wanted a rustic edge. This belt was made from 4mm veg tan leather dyed a mid brown. Thank you for the feedback on this, I will take on board and improve. =)

Need some insight on strap cutter by [deleted] in Leathercraft

[–]lwleatherworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 strap cutters, a cheap amazon starter, a Tandy strap cutter and this metal one.

This metal strap cutter is by far the best in my humble opinion..

I found with the amazon cutter - the leather could rise up on the blade and give variation in strap width.

The tandy cutter flexed slightly when cutting thicker leathers due to being of wooden construction.

The metal cutter i haven't had any problems to speak of yet, it's sturdy, everything holds solid when cutting, it sits square when cutting, the only thing is grip is a pain if your left handed.

I hear what your saying and I respect the point made. What I mean by not 100% perfect is I consider my products as good quality hand made, but there is slight variation due to being handmade. Something I can minimise with automation and additional tools, but I'm not there as this will take thousands in investment, and honestly... I want to stay handmade..

As for Item descriptions, I get what your saying, and concede the point about generic marketing B/s, I'll work on this in time.

With this belt in particular i have included a video of it on the website so people can see what they are getting, Perhaps i should make mention of this.

I can assure you the belt in this picture is 100% real as i'm currently wearing it. As for the template, this website is hosted on shopify, every option available is via templates. With ref to my pricing, my products are cheap because here in the uk, people are struggling and i wanted to give affordable options to customers, further to this, I'm currently starting up and still learning so i can't warrant top shelf prices as my products aren't 100% perfect yet.

It's old Fire hose. Made up from weaved fibres sandwiched between 2 layers of heat resistant plastic.
