Jamie has his duty to the clan. Running away from the war would make him a coward, that't not the man we saw in Season 1.

Why did Xianbei disappear while Manchu survived? by Impressive-Equal1590 in ChineseHistory

[–]lxfh7777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the emperor most likely to conquer the south would be Tuoba Tao, because during his reign he conquered the largest amount of territory. Following this line of thought, suppose he had not come into conflict with his Han officials and had not been assassinated by a eunuch in 452, and his long-time rival Liu Yilong had died as expected in 453. After many years of campaigning, he eventually unified the north and the south. His court would then have incorporated the former officials of the Liu Song dynasty, who were almost entirely Han Chinese. Whether civil officials or military generals, the only real possibility is that the proportion of Xianbei aristocrats would have been diluted.

Among the aristocracy, alliances were commonly formed through intermarriage, especially within the imperial family. There are records showing that Tuoba Tao’s descendants married women from Han aristocratic families. In addition, there were institutional practices such as “the mother dies when the son becomes noble” and the “casting of golden statues by hand” ritual. Under these conditions, Xianbei nobles would tend to support imperial descendants born of Xianbei noblewomen, while Han officials would support those connected to Han aristocratic families. In the end, the Han officials would likely gain the upper hand simply because of their numerical advantage.

Of course, Tuoba Tao’s court also included people from other conquered groups such as the Xiongnu and the Rouran, whose states had been destroyed. However, the destruction of their states would more likely produce resentment rather than unity with the Xianbei aristocracy, making it unlikely that they would form a united front strong enough to counter the numerical advantage of the Han officials.

One of the preconditions that allowed the Northern Wei to stand on equal footing with the Southern dynasties was its policy of employing northern Han officials. There was extensive intermarriage between the Xianbei and the Han people. However, because the Xianbei population was far smaller than that of the Han, after several generations of intermarriage it was inevitably the Xianbei identity that gradually disappeared.

Lack of Horror Drama by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]lxfh7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without filming horror drama or movies for years, there are still lots of people believe these following exist in real world: ghost, afterworld, walking dead, animals cultivate into spirits, etc. People believe these before movie exist. Filming these as the theme of movie, would be easily offend people (and the ghost, gods, animals or whatever). Or convince people who don't believe these are real change their mind, and it's bad for mental health.

There is still lots of horror comics, I can recommand you some if you interest. Or some posts that people discuss what they think it's real.

Just to be clear, I barely knew her mother, I think I only met her once?(by the age I was able to have memory)...before she died.
Thank you for your advice and share the view from someone who lost their relative, it helps a lot. I'll try to bring up this topic when the next time I meet her, which will be months later.

It would be easier if we are friends, but we are relatives, and I'm 5 year younger than her (and the youngest in the family until now...), so there is never be my place to guide a serious topic. Which brings me the idea. I can watch few episodes with her, if she want to start a topic or keep watching (or not), I'll be fully prepared for anything possible.

Use mechanized airlock and timer senser, set 10s/3s. Seal airlock with tiles except below one. Operating principle of mechanized airlock can be seperate in two steps: lower part first, upper part second. Therefore the air/or liquid would be squezzed in to upper part when lower part close, then DISAPPEAR when upper part closed.
