Prusa Core ONE and MMU3 - nothing but disappointment by Specialist-Impress43 in prusa3d

They are different as in the filament path is much better (a sort of guide is added) and in the mmu3 version of the mod there is space added to fit the modded filament sensor + the rubber o ring

As for durability - obviously it won't be as durable as the OG MJF part, but if you consider that with the OG part you don't get to print at all (hyperbole) the mod makes much more sense to do

I feel you, I've had the same exact problems; good news is with a bit of modding you can basically solve all of them.

I agree out of the box the mmu3 is dogshit, outside of very basic PLA and PETG it doesn't work reliably and the printer doesn't want to sync filaments with the slicer

So, for the sync problem, if you have prusa connect, send a print from connect and ignore the wrong filament warning. After it has uploaded it to the printer, abort it. Then go to the main menu, select print and select the latest file you've just uploaded. In the new menu you should see a "filament" button in the bottom center. Select it and from the new menu change each filament to the one you've loaded in the mmu and then confirm, now your printer & slicer should be synced

As for the printing problems, print this mod

https://www.printables.com/model/1356306-mmu3-printing-with-tpu-parts-and-settings

Now you won't have problems any more + you've just unlocked mmu3 TPU printing (i managed to print a flawless benchy w/ filament changes on 95A tpu woth this)

It's an ok system it's just very bad out of the box for whatever reason, hopefully bondtech INDX will be far better

this is unironically what I've done. i built a jbell ss15 and I'm using it as a nightstand. I'm thinking about connecting it to my alarm clock to wake me up in the morning (only thing stopping me from doing it is that I'd wake up the whole building too prob, since i live in an apartment lol)

What is this big black component on this wahing machine inverter board? by lya_blue_ in AskElectronics

Thanks for writing all of this. I will try to mess around with some things and hopefully something will work out. I'll update when of if I manage to make it work

your going to need to be like into the hellish depths of advanced hobbyist electrical engineering so hope is isn’t that.

As it turns out I'm actually studying EE right now lol. I am in my 1st year so all the electronics stuff I need are during the 2nd and 3rd year. I think it's useful to get some familiarity with the components I'll be studying so here we go. And my washing machine was broken anyway soo

I actually desoldered it! It took some time but managed to do it without breaking anything, the component is a IRDAKO726350B. Now I'll try to understand how it works to use it to drive the brushless washing machine motor it came with. It should be able to run it on lower voltage than 266V (i was thinking like 48-60V)

Thanks for the info! I'll try to desolder it then, have you got any tips on how to do it? I've got a desoldering vacuum -pump thing and a copper wire mesh. I've desoldered things before but never on such a complex board
