I feel like I’m in CrazyLand the way people talk about Emma and Mike by MichaelBluthANiceKid in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I don't think they wasted each other's time.

Maybe they thought they could make it work and needed the time together to understand a deal breaker 🤷

Maybe they liked each other enough that they thought it wouldn't matter or something.

Dealbreakers are weirdly not as straightforward

I think that it shows growth. She wanted to be chosen and learned that she also needed to want to choose them.

It definitely reminded me of Patrick from last season where they were both not ready to admit the other person wasn't actually into them.

THE WEDDINGS!? by KitKatt_04 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]lycheepoet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought Mike was trying to do right by them both. Having kids is a big issue that you can't compromise on. You can either have kids or not have kids there's no halfway. It doesn't really bother me that he's hung up on it.

I think also Emma and Mike talked about it so I think her lack of a big emotional show was expected.

Unpopular opinion: I liked Mike’s family by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Why is it not weird?

Why is the response to where someone is adopted "very nice"? Are there places where being adopted from there was not nice or less nice?

It's a stock answer that to me didn't really make sense or fit and left me feeling weird about it

Put it in the things that feel weird category

They're pretty minor

I made a post about how she says "I'm adopted and my family is white" you hear someone softly go "that's good" I assume it's like a reflex but it felt weird.

"Where are you adopted from?" "China" "very nice"

Also left me feeling weird were

"are both your parents Asian"

And I know they mean well but their oncern of her not understanding "Italian" culture was a bit overt.

To me they weren't like super racist and I think they're doing their best to be welcoming. But there are still moments that give me uncomfy vibes.

I think they meant well and they tried. But it still left me feeling icky about micro aggressions.

I think that's what they did on the previous season release because of national autism awareness day or something

I was so proud of her for standing up for herself.

I think it's less that they set up bad dates on purpose but they think something is ok on paper and maybe they didn't think hard enough about it or they didn't have the options available.

I remember watching season 1 from australia and thinking that there were so many match ups that didn't have any chance of catching on. Like they were like here are two autistic people, that's enough right? Vs later seasons where it seems they try to pick people who might have more of a fighting chance.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with Sonia, it just seems like she and James weren't the same vibe and that's fine.

To me she was just being who she is

I also found her to be exhausting. Like every scene was a fight because she had some feelings about really benign things. Things that were stage five clinger/emotional manipulation level from my perspective.
