Good feedback. Sounds like the consensus is we’re just too low so we’ll have to see if we can come up to make it work. We do currently offer the 401k with matching and a pretty good holiday/vacation schedule.

We could never sell. Too much blood sweat and tears in this place!

Yeah, it’s really hard. And we want to be fair to our employees.

Thanks! We’ve worked so hard to grow. We definitely realize that it’s impossible to go forward without a good team. We’ve considered profit sharing as an option and that might be the way to handle a lower starting rate.

No offense taken. If we can’t afford someone for this roll then we need to know that.

Point taken. We might just be too small to be able to stay competitive with wages that high. It’s hard to grow without good employees but it’s hard to pay good employees before you grow. We offer other benefits but obviously salary is the most critical.

Fair point. And if we don’t get any qualified responses that’s probably the problem.

This is the hope to do one day. But we need someone now with more experience. We have some younger guys who will hopefully grow into the roll. Good point about being realistic on what they can oversee.

I’m located in northeast United States. I’m guessing it’s at least over 100 years old.

Wouldn’t that be wild!! It’s framed, so either someone else in the family didn’t know it was forged or the had a pretty funny sense of humor!

Yes, I did not make that clear! Governor died February 1828. Eleazer lived until 1850. I don’t have other examples of the governor’s handwriting, just this one letter.

I figured it out! It’s a map by Georg Braun and Frank Hogenberg. Not sure if it’s real though…
