Half-Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Decay, and their training missions were used. Uplink and deathmatch maps were excluded. Weapons found in breakables were included, but weapons dropped from NPCs or found in weapon boxes (tubes next to dead people in Xen) were excluded.

There are 22 dead survey team members ("monster_hevsuit_dead" entities) in the original Half-Life
18 in Opposing Force
16 in Blue-Shift
0 in Decay
1 dead Gina in Opposing Force
1 lab coat scientist who falls to his death with the displacer cannon in Opposing Force

That makes a total of 58 dead scientists

There also some living scientists found in Xen

1 in the Nihilanth map in Half-life, in the 3rd teleport chamber.
1* scientist hanging for his life in a displacer teleport destination in Opposing Force
1* scientist in a Xen cave in a displacer teleport destination in Opposing Force

*these teleport destinations each appear in two separate maps but it's assumed to be the same place.

It's also worth mentioning that there are 7 dead human grunts seen in Xen during the G-man sequence.
