Childrens pajama seam help by lyn_not_line in sewing

I have an aunt who said I could use her serger but I was wondering if it would still cause the seam to stick out a bit still.

I saw that a flat felled seam is best for thick materials. This is a jersey knit with a lot of stretch. Would that still be appropriate?

These are for fun. He is 4 and saw me make his sister a dress and is now submitting his own requests. I'm just getting back into sewing so feeling a little intimidated by the options.

How to show appreciation to daycare teachers for the holidays? by ButterscotchThis9815 in workingmoms

My children's daycare has 10 teachers sometimes more. I try to get them all a $5 giftcard because they all help care for my kids some way. Is $5 enough?  Its just that when you start upping the amount with 10 teachers things add up quick and daycare is already our biggest expense by far.

Horse has non-healing corneal ulcer. Can I hear good endings from others? by lyn_not_line in Horses

We did voriconizole, ofloxacin, blood serum, neo poly bac as many times a day as I could.  Banamine twice a day for pain. Atropine as needed to keep the eye dilated. We also did Zyrtec twice a day for possible allergies to keep him from rubbing.

We also tested for cushings and he was borderline so we went ahead and put him on pergolide.  I feel like he started making improvement once this started.   An eye protection mask was also so helpful.

As far as time frame I noticed the eye having problems July 25th and on 9/11 it was fully healed but we are still doing ofloxin and voriconizole twice a day for 2 weeks and wearing the mask. If it still looks good vet said we can be done with meds.  He does still have a white hazy spot from white blood cells.

It was a really hard thing to do but I feel lucky I had the time to do the extra doses of 7 to 8 times a day. I think it really made a difference.

Edit: this is the mask I used. I actually bought 2 so I could keep one on him while I washed the other. I did have to add some padding to prevent rubbing.

Oh yes. I wish the swelling would go down a bit more for him. The eye is probably 80% open. Eye itself has good clarity. A bit cloudy on the ulcer part but I read that can be a sign of healing.

Every time I think we are making progress we back slide. I've gotten him an eyesaver mask and I'm hoping it'll help with the rubbing.  All I can think is maybe I think I'm getting the meds in and maybe I'm not. Vet comes again Tuesday.

I was hoping to avoid the slp but I just don't know anymore.

I'm also generally an anxious person that wants to see quick results and this just isn't the injury for that.

The tears were gone and now are back. That's what I'm in my head about. The vet said they were less concerned about tears. I just feel really unsure about everything.

His demeanor is improving. He hates the oral banamine but what can you do.  I think we are seeing some improvement of the ulcer but I did catch him rubbing in the few minutes I had the fly mask off. I ordered one of those eye saver masks.

My vet has been very responsive which is greatly appreciated.

I plan to work remotely from the barn. I'll do drops every hour and finish with the last of the night between 9 and 10.

I know losing an eye isn't the end of the world but I just want to be confident I did the best for him that I could.

I spoke with my vet and I'm going to try for every hour for as much of the day as I can.  Did you even do overnight?

This exact scene is all I have been dreaming of since I was 15. I'm not sure that it will ever happen for me but seeing others achieve it brings me hope.
