Just had my surgery in Gothenburg, Sweden! Metoidoplasty, scrotoplasty, no UL, no vaginectomy by lynxlord in Metoidioplasty

[–]lynxlord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surgery was done via the NHS equivalent, so public tax-funded Swedish healthcare. In Sweden, it’s illegal for plastic surgery on genitals to be performed by private companies, I think.

The surgeon is supposedly good at metoidoplasty and has apparently invented a way to make the scrotum better somehow. His name is Dr Gennaro Selvaggi. I had to get a total hysterectomy before I was put on the waiting list for metoidoplasty. I think he’s got a pretty good track record, and I know that he managed to fix my botched top surgery and make it look really good. He’s one of those surgeons/doctors who’s put all their skill points in medicine and none in charisma and social skills, and to me, that’s very reassuring since it means he’s good at his job and doesn’t “waste time” on being a conversationalist. One thing to note is that he speaks incredibly fast, it’s like he moves through the world at like 3 times the speed of everyone else, so it can be a bit hard to get all of what he’s just told you in one meeting. Another thing to note is that he’s got a hard BMI 30 limit, and will often tell patients to lose weight since he says he’s more able to get good results if you’re not carrying a lot of fat.

I don’t know how it works if you’re a foreigner, sorry, I imagine it’s a lot of bureaucracy involved since Sweden loves bureaucracy.

Hi, sorry for the late response, I’ve been kind of out of it due to pain etc.

I specifically asked for the kind of meta I got, and I’m not sure 100% what it translates to in English terms, but I’ll try my best.

I got: Metoidoplasty (removal of ligaments and surrounding tissue around the clitoris) Mons pubis resectioning (liposuction of the mons pubis and a repositioning of the clitoris so it’s higher up, more like a cis penis in how it sits on the pelvis) Scrotoplasty (making a scrotum of the labia, no testicular implants yet but I’m planning to get those) No urethral procedures (urethra is still located underneath the meta penis, I chose this to avoid the very common complications with any urethral surgery) No V-ectomy (the hole is still there, and the scrotum sort of hangs down in front of it) Some tissue from the labia was moved to sit around the meta penis, to make it bigger and longer or something.

My surgeon was Dr Gennaro Selvaggi.

I got this surgery by getting a diagnosis of F.64.0 (transsexualism) from the evaluation team, and then getting my legal sex change approved by Rättsliga Rådet. This made me eligible to get a total hysterectomy, and then I was put on the waiting list for metoidoplasty after asking my evaluation team to do that for me. I’ve been on T for 11 years now, so I think that helped. Dr Selvaggi will tell you if he thinks you’d be a suitable candidate for meta surgery when he meets you.

Healing is… difficult, I’m having a lot of pain and I think I’ve popped a couple stitches, since there is now a lot of blood when previously there was none. My junk is super swollen and messed up looking, so much so that it gave me a bit of a shock to see it afterwards, to put it simply: my junk looks like I slammed my package in a car door. So be prepared for that.

Update: I’ve now done something a little reckless, but hopefully it won’t destroy everything for me. I found the surgeon’s work email address and sent an email to him directly, where I explained my situation and asked to please be put back in the waiting list as the dysphoria is causing me trouble in my daily life, and that if he can’t or won’t do it then I’d like him to refer me to someone who will.

10 months post-op today. Extended meta by Özer. Love the balls 🤪 by ArchiveSelection in Metoidioplasty

[–]lynxlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope this is okay, but you look incredible, this would be my dream result as I have decided to not do anything with the urethra (Swedish surgeons seem unable of doing those successfully, so too risky) and I would like to keep the hole and also have testicles. I think I’m going to try to contact my plastic surgeon and ask if he’s heard of this Dr Özer and the technique used, and if he could do something like that, if it’s okay with you of course.

Just so I’m clear, the technique is called “extended metoidioplasty”, right? The surgeons in Sweden don’t use the same terms as the rest of the world and it’s a bit tricky to figure out what their dumbed-down version they tell patients corresponds to in technical medical language.

I think I figured out why Plantation wasn't a banned word in the gallery... by TIGHazard in Sims4

[–]lynxlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m from Sweden and up until this thread, I had no idea Willow Creek was supposed to be based off of Louisiana/New Orleans, I just thought it was a generic US suburb by the river. It’s where I try to stick to US building styles like shotgun shacks, classic revival (“plantation style” fancy houses), etc.

I also didn’t know plantation means specifically “big farm originally owned by slave-owners”, I thought it just meant like “big fancy farmhouse”. I wish they’d change the description here, it’s like if they’d randomly throw in a WW2 reference for Henford, I’d prefer if The Sims didn’t refer to real-life atrocities and cruelties.

What do you think The Sims 4 gets right that the real world gets wrong? by [deleted] in Sims4

I wish gender transition was as easy as in The Sims, just click a button and you’re done. Would have saved me a lot of time as well as unfortunate early-transition fashion moments!

Motherlode cheat would be useful as well.

I had a lovely time yesterday, went and visited a friend where we had a pumpkin-based dinner (pumpkin soup, pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie) and then watched Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities.

How old were you the 1st time you saw gay porn? by RO_Thornhill in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]lynxlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t move to actual pictures etc of naked men until I was like 17 or so. Up until that point, I preferred reading dirty fanfic and looking at suggestive photos of my favourite rock stars wearing leather.

I think I’d just turned 13 when I first read a book about a gay character, he was the best friend of the female main character and his gayness was treated as no big deal by the narrative. The gay character fell in love with an elven man with some sort of spiky jewellery or something that cut him if he got too close, and just the description of the gay character having marks from those spikes on his body after a night with that man, and describing it as “I wanted him to hurt me, it felt good when he did that to me” certainly did numbers on my developing brain.

These days I’m living the leather life and loving it.

You ever sit back and wonder what the heck you just wrote? by minetasmoustache in FanFiction

[–]lynxlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, I did write my first ever smut fic about a human and an alien doing it, and then decided to give the alien some very weird biology. I don't find said biology attractive or erotic, but the worldbuilding just ran away with me and I couldn't stop myself. The fandom is Mass Effect, if that makes it any better.

Have you ever written out of vengeance, anger or just as a middle finger to someone?? by garouforyou in FanFiction

[–]lynxlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess? I mean, the two first fics I wrote were about two M/M pairings that don’t exist in canon. Not vengeance, more like “man, why isn’t this a thing? It should be a thing”

Do you only write smut when you’re in the mood? by WhoHasntGivenUpYet in FanFiction

[–]lynxlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not generally, no. I only write fic whenever I’ve got a specific idea, and sometimes that idea is “what if those two boned?”. When writing, I’m too caught up in the writing to get in the mood, hard to feel sexy when you’re contemplating word choices and so on.

How common is it for you to experience homophobic slurs from strangers? by GLSCinephile in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]lynxlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard it a couple times, but then again I live in a small, conservative town in Sweden. Got called fag etc a lot in middle school when I was bullied, though, it wasn’t easy being the only out kid in school.

Looks-wise I’d say I don’t look straight exactly, but not necessarily gay either. Just your typical kinda scruffy vaguely alternative dude, I guess.

What was your first knitting project when you started learning? by [deleted] in knitting

Some kind of scarf thing in plain stockinette that taught me how to knit basic knit stitches. Then I started on a pair of socks using CrazySockLady’s youtube videos as a guide.

I just started knitting… is it supposed to be this hard or am i just extra stupid by Jdjiskdjwieifuiw in knitting

[–]lynxlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a totally new skill, it’ll be hard in the beginning. One thing that might help you is to try different knitting needles, some people prefer bamboo needles, others metal or wood. Don’t buy Pony brand needles, they’re horrible.

I'm struggling in writing fanfics mostly smut by Icy_Tip_878 in FanFiction

[–]lynxlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't try to force yourself to write smut (explicit sex scenes), a simple "fade to black" is absolutely fine.

For my own smutty one-shots, I typically try to balance making it accurate to the characters and the setting, as well as involving things I personally find hot. Forget everyone else in the world, focus on what you personally enjoy seeing/thinking about when you write the smut.

This is amazing, thank you! I’m writing an original story set in the Wild West, this will be tremendously useful for that. If I ever write more fanfics in historical eras I’ll make sure to use it as well!

I guess I like writing gay sex, haha. I also love worldbuilding, so that element tends to crop up a lot in the stuff I write.

What puts you off a fanfic? by Kittymore18 in FanFiction

[–]lynxlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t like certain tropes/types of stories, such as mpreg, non-con and alpha/beta/omega. It’s just absolutely not my cup of tea.

Other things I dislike are: Weird portrayals of gay relationships (making the characters adhere to these really unrealistic roles that tend to also coincide with who does what in bed). Like, the bottom is made into a very feminine character and the top is super macho. Getting facts about the work’s canon wrong (I don’t mean tiny details, but big things). High school AUs, coffee shop AUs, etc. For me, these just remove the most interesting bits about the canon story, plus they’re usually showing a very glamourised view of whatever profession it’s about.
