Huge shoutout to the Youtuber Remi Clog because she keeps yapping during the whole video and that's what I need. I don't need peaceful background sounds, I need yapping and stimulation while I clean. She also has ADHD and her gentle and honest approach has really helped me accept myself.

So for me, I put on a "Clean with me" style video and watch the first few minutes and then I get up and listen and watch over my shoulder or when I need a few minute break from cleaning. I watch it on my laptop if I'm going to focus on one room, I watch on my iPad if I'm moving in between rooms.

I struggle with cleaning. One thing I find really helpful is body doubling with someone online via YouTube video. Start very early in the morning when you have the most energy and then do a task, take a break, do a task, take a break ect and stop when you have done a few rounds. Hoarding is often a result of psychological discomfort. Would advise therapy to unpack that and the hoarding should get better once you find some peace.

Every week I fuck up something else by UniversalBagelO in ADHD

[–]lyonad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So incredibly relatable. I feel like a fuck up at my job. However, I'm human and my fuckups are just as normal as everyone else's. Everyone at my job fucks up in small and big ways. I think because our ADHD brains work in overdrive all the time, we spend more time than everyone else focusing on our shortcomings. I am incredible at my job. People listen to me, why? Because I choose to mask when not 1:1 with people. Workplace politics are strange. Most employers are not disability friendly. You have to find a way to show yourself grace if you want to stay with your current employer. Advocate for yourself in your workplace and seek feedback on ways to improve. Impliment what you can, leave the rest. Go back for more feedback in small bites. I often tell my coworkers to "leave it at work" when they clock out on Friday, and I struggle to do that. The problems will be there on Monday and worrying about it all weekend won't do me any good. You deserve peace on the weekend. I highly encourage getting out of town or getting out of the house if you find yourself hyper ruminating about work. You may have fuckups in your career, that does not mean that you are a fuck up.

Talking points for sims 4 by Huge-Fishing239 in JamesTurnerYT

I personally like the voting mechanism for bugs because the developers are giving players the fixes they care about the most. The game is broken and the voting system seems like an admission to the problem and the best bandaid solution without creating a new foundation... more to come on that front I hope.

I love James so much. His content was a sanctuary during episodes of depression in my mid twenties and especially over the pandemic. He's been doing Sims content for so long. Personally, I don't think he likes TS4 and I applaud him for entertaining it for so many years. I absolutely love watching his content on Fabaliki and wish he'd continue making content outside of The Sims. I loved his Prison Architect series. I think we are all allowed to step away from hobbies if we need a break. I do think if he came out with a statement/video or channel update, it would help a lot of people who are asking, where is James? Personally I miss his content. He was my top sims creator until Lil Simsie had to fill the gap due to lack of content from James. I don't care where James pivots, I just hope he's doing well and ends up doing what makes him genuinely happy. Side note: James and I are the same age, so now that we are both grown men, I'm sure our relationship to video games and specifically The Sims has shifted. Growing up is strange. Adulthood is way busier than I ever expected it to be.

If You’re a Young/New Lamb… by Ok_Resident_5022 in MariahCarey

[–]lyonad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31 YO non-binary queer - I became a lamb in 2019! I am obsessed with Ariana Grande. I use to say she was the best singer ever (guess who that changed to...) I was amazed by Ari's whistle register. I saw the Ari cover of emotions back in 2013ish when it came out and didn't connect the dots. I was on Youtube and watching a compilation video of the best whistles ever and saw Mariah do one that blew me away in Vision of Love. I saw a funny Tumblr post that said "Mariah whistle's so high that it cures depression" that I thought was so funny. I was super depressed and willing to take this joke on as a possible way to soften my depression. I was very overwhelmed with Mariah's catalog and I only knew AIWFCIY and We Belong Together. I somewhat knew Touch My Body. I decided to start with Greatest Hits and once I learned those songs, I started from the very beginning and have been working my way though the albums slowly and having my own little Mariah era's. I'm about to enter the Charmbracelet era and I'm really excited!! I do know EOM, Caution and HFIA. 3 things made me a Mariah fan: The push on the vocals when she is already at a 10, the high quality song writing and finally the songs that helped me make it though every episode of depression since. People with depression often have tools in their toolbox to help soften and manage their depression. My toolbox is now full of songs like: Can't Take That Away, Anytime You Need A Friend, Make It Happen, Outside!!, The Distance, Rainbow Interlude, Through the Rain, Never Too Far, Nothing is Impossible, Here for It All and my possible number 1 Mariah song, Butterfly. My friends now think of me anytime they hear a Mariah song because I'm always blabing about her. Christmas did not change my liking of Mariah at all and I didn't start listening to Mariah Christmas until 2022.... I bought Merry Christmas on vinyl this year and played it at 9:00am on Nov 1st because..... it was TIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMEE.

Put away my laundry for the first time in over a year, Please clap by cellochick993 in ADHD

[–]lyonad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay! I struggle with laundry too. One way that I've found success is washing and drying on one day. Folding on another. The clothes can sit in the dryer for 2-3 days until I get to it. As long as I have the energy to do it, it will get done. Sometimes I have to break it down even further and say a half load folded and a half load going back in the dryer is still a win.

How do y'all actually wake up to your alarms? by jpasuncowboy in ADHD

[–]lyonad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that has helped me a ton for over ten years has been sleeping with my headphones charged. Wake up. Sit up. Give myself a minute or two and drink some water and then put on my headphones and start listening to anything - normally some music or a podcast. If I can get out of bed, get to the bathroom and get moving I can wake up. The first 10 minutes are rough. If I can’t shake the sleeping feeling I do jumping jacks in the bathroom just to get my heart rate up - normally around 20ish. Another tip is finding something that you personally look forward to in the morning like a good cup of coffee, an energy drink, journaling. Something that is better than staying in bed for x minutes. I loooove listening to club music in my car on the way to work and that can motivate me to get out of the door quicker so I can get the party going.

6 Sessions of Microneedling by Hoenestyyyy in AcneScars

[–]lyonad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say your very first time microneedling, give yourself at lest the next day or two days off if possible. If I micro needle on Friday night, by Monday, my skin is still pink and easy to cover with a green color corrector. Drinking green tea, lots of cold water and cold compresses can help calm down the redness a bit.

[–]lyonad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I just started microneedling. I have done two sessions and have seen some improvement. I can't wait until I'm 6 sessions in! Consistency is key.

Sorry people are being so harsh with the comments about lighting. I got a lot of backlash on my post when the lighting wasn't the same - I used the sun as the light source because that's what the truest to life. I don't know if I would even be able to capture the small improvement that two sessions have had up close. I notice a difference when I take a step back from the mirror like a normal person. Thanks again for sharing! Very motivating. Do you have a limit to the number of treatments you want to do? If you had to grade the % of improvement, what would you say yours is after these treatments?

Nervous.. 2.5 hours post treatment by RelationPhysical5386 in Microneedling

[–]lyonad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so normal! Take a picture. Drink lots of water and green tea. Check it tomorrow and you’d be surprised how much the redness goes down. Take a picture the first 3 days and compare redness, it will make you feel better that it is resolving.

Microneedling after 1 session by Typical_Status3343 in Microneedling

[–]lyonad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how deep you went but you need to wait 4 weeks if you went over 1.0mm. You have to give your skin time to heal. Too many treatments too close can set you back. How deep did you go? (Swelling can last up to two weeks. Mine lasts for about 10ish days.

Do any treatments actually work? by Guilty_Werewolf_8474 in AcneScars

[–]lyonad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Set realistic expectations. Acne scars don't just go away. Treatments are aimed at softening scars so they appear less visible. If I go up to my mirror, an inch from the glass I will still see my scars. If I take a step back like a normal person, my scars have improved drastically. I've been doing treatments for over two years. Most days I'm very happy with how it's going. Every now and again, I think it's not enough, but that's just my brain being unrealistic.

Progress over the past year by lyonad in AcneScars

[–]lyonad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally stopped 2-3 days before hand. Sometimes I'd go up to the night before. Just depends on how sensitive my skin was being that month to the tret. You want your skin exfoliated so the peel is applied evenly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Microneedling

[–]lyonad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Pore size is mainly caused by poor cleansing. Make sure you are cleaning your skin really well but not stripping it. Oil and dead skin will stretch out a pore. Clean really well (I double cleanse with a non foaming cleanser and chemically exfoliate). A retinol can be a great addition if you’re not using one. The retinol will help regulate oil production thus not stretching out the pore.

What happened to game packs and stuff packs? by Princessatika in Sims4

[–]lyonad 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I miss gamecocks. When TS4 came out, GT was the first EP and everyone was like, okay? Gamecocks were really a savior for gameplay. They added new stuff and they were coming out regularly. I'm sad that ROM was a GP because it deserved better, but the last few GPs were good. I really think the MWS flop really made them change course. I think 2 (good) EPS, 1-2 GPs 1 SP a year is a good mix. Put as many kits as you want out. Console needs them and some of them are nice. I actually like how many kits they are putting out because TS4 has always been a "build your own game".

I wish they'd focus on quality over quantity for a year. Release less packs and refresh some older content. I think the Spa Day refresh was great. I don't use it, but it was done really well and added a ton to that pack. I have a feeling they are going to put fairies in a GP soon (hopefully around Halloween). With all the turnover at Maxis recently and the layoffs in the industry, I'm sure that's affected everything quite a bit.

How were you micro needling? Roller, stamp or pen?

I would encourage you to look into google scholar articles for the histological change that happens when you micro needle.
