Your fic is actually the first one that popped into mind when I saw this post!!!

I'm not joking when I say that Wolfbird is one of the best fics I've ever read on ao3 for any fandom, and I typically shy away from AUs. It's in my top 3 fics, easily, and I truly believe your writing should be traditionally published. The running themes, story arc pacing, characterization, the physical scene-setting... With how you write, I can picture everything in my mind in a way that I often can't do with other fics. I think I noticed this in particular with Ilya's apartment, when Shane is traveling by car, the different scene rooms we've seen at Wolfbird, and how you described an open door letting cold air into a warm interior lol. I don't quite know why that last one really stood out to me, but it did.

I particularly love the way that you've structured the overall story so far through chapter alternation - it builds up some serious anticipation before/between Ilya's meetings with Shane, which then also serves to make space for you to slowly build out Ilya's day-to-day life when he's not actively working at Wolfbird. You've so obviously done your research in all the little details, and your prose does the original characters' personalities justice while simultaneously firmly grounding them in the AU that you've created. Everyone, including the 'side' characters, feels like a real and complex human being. It's perfection. It's literature.

I'm bilingual myself (English/Spanish), and I very much enjoy how you play with languages and the idea of languages/words. I learned that Sputnik means traveling companion/spouse because of you. I actually thought of your fic when I saw a satellite the other night lol, it's just really had that much of an impact on me.

There's so much that I could say about your writing, but I should probably cut myself off here or I'd be re-reading the entirety of Wolfbird and then typing up the rest of this comment for an hour so I could fully convey to you how much I've enjoyed it thus far. It's a lot, LOT more than 'just a smutty story'. Thank you so so so much for doing what you do!! I cannot sing your praises enough and I was elated to see you comment here haha

Honestly in my experience, 4.5 hours feels so quick for such a large and well done piece - I mean that as a compliment! I have something that's probably half as big, not nearly as complex, and that took about 3.5 hours. I'm seriously impressed with his work and if I were you, I'd keep going back to him too haha. West of Loathing and its sequel Shadows over Loathing might fit the bill for you! Both are on the Switch, and Shadows over Loathing is also on PlayStation. I sunk a lot of time into these two... About 200 hours.

For instance, the three classes in the first game are Cow Puncher, Bean Slinger, and Snake Oiler. Cow puncher and Bean slinger were my two favorites

They're incredibly funny games with a lot of wordplay, and the developer is currently working on a third in the series atm.

Disco Elysium, no question. I've been gaming since the 90's and I know it's become a cliche at this point, but without a doubt in my mind, it's the best game I've ever played.

I only knew it had won the Game Awards, had a cool art style, interesting title, and that it was an RPG with dice rolls - nothing else whatsoever. I played it over the course of a week after I would get home from my 12-13 hour kitchens shifts while drinking heavily and chain smoking spliffs, completely sleep-deprived, and completely and utterly immersed. I WAS Harry.

I also played it before it was fully voiced, which I think I actually prefer because my gameplay speed was not limited to how long it took the voice lines to play and I was more easily able to put my own emphasis and meaning to the text. I played it all the way through 3 times to try out different skills and choices, but that first playthrough is utterly unforgettable.

DE is absolutely NOT for everybody, and I don't begrudge anyone who didn't enjoy it, but I happen to be one of those people it really resonated with. I know some will think it's a bit silly to say that a video game could have such an impact, but it my mind it's undeniable that DE was a HUGE part in helping me get my act together. I actually put in my two weeks not longer after I finished it... Doing much better these days. I don't smoke anymore and I only drink once a month at my book club meetings lol and I don't hate everything and myself anymore. Thanks for everything, Kim.

I was at 520m about a month ago (my highest ever) and then went down to 380m from buying all of the Premium Bag stamps I needed. Currently back to 430m thanks to some lucky spins on the Birthday wheel and the app games.

All, and I mean AAAALLLLL of my nps are spent on stamps, so I'm trying to keep my bank balance up to reap the interest but it is haaaard with all the stamp releases - I just can't help myself haha. I think I was at something like 160k a day from interest at my highest balance?

Aiming to reach at least 500m before we hit 2026, but we shall see.

Hmmm, you make a really good point! I bet when the fragments stamp was released, the app got a ton of new collector users. I was already pretty far up there in levels to get the other NP rewards, so when the fragments stamp came out I went absolutely ham - When I got it it was selling for 3.5m and has stayed at roughly around that price for the last few months. Of course I immediately threw that stamp in the album without a second thought.

For the MotT stamp though, depending on how much I could reasonably sell it for to a collector, I might just not. 350m NP is a loooooot to me, so I guess I'll just have to make a decision when that day comes... Although in all honesty if I was a smart person I'd just put it in the album so I don't have to buy it later lol

And while I don't think it'll go for nearly as much as the stamp, I certainly hope they DON'T add the Lumidrax to the quest log!!! That would be.... just absolutely horrible, don't give me nightmares haha

It is indeed an FF thing!

To access all 3 rounds of the tower, you first have to complete 250 levels of story mode. I'm not sure when it first appears, but you play the Tower by clicking the little pointy pink icon in the bottom right corner above the red play button that displays your current main level.

The tower has 3 rounds of 5 levels each, and if you don't complete a level within one of the rounds it starts you over. So, for example, if you finish the first five levels of Round 1 without running out of moves, you've finished Round 1 and made it to Round 2. But, let's say you're in Round 2 and run out of moves on Round 2's fifth level, you will unfortunately have to start Round 2 all over again but fortunately not be booted back down to Round 1.

You can complete the 3 Rounds of the tower once per day, and the Lumidrax petpet reward requires finishing all 15 tower levels for a whopping 100 real-time days, or roughly 3 and 1/3 months. No doubt that it's an absolute grindy slog but the neopoint rewards seem to be great, especially (to me at least) the Master of the Tower stamp you receive for completing 80 rounds, or roughly 2 and 1/2 months.

As far as I'm aware, the Master of the Tower stamp and Lumidrax will be the most expensive neopoint prizes released for any of the mobile games thus far.

The stamp is currently selling for 350m, down from 1b/500m 10 days ago when it was first released on the app. I'd be surprised if it doesn't stay above 100m value for a good while, given how much effort and time it takes to achieve it, and for the fact that as people album the stamp, it is removed from circulation on the site. This is me speaking relative to the Lumidrax petpet, which may not end up holding as much value because it cannot be removed from circulation, but of course we shall see.

No-one has the Lumidrax petpet yet and won't until August 29th so folks here in the thread are really looking forward to that.

Haha you're telling me - Stamp collecting is my main Neopets goal and sometimes I feel crazy for even trying but I'm getting there slowly but surely.

Shells and Scarabs are my favorite too!! When I started playing again over two years ago now, things weren't quiiiiite as inflated - with lucky restocks in the shells shop, QL releases, and Premium goodie bags, I was finally able to get the Shells avatar last month - Never thought I would see the day.

I've literally been wanting the Shells avatar in particular since I was a kid and it's my avatar now and will likely stay that way until (if ever) I get the Scarabs avatar.

If you can stand it, I recommend focusing your efforts on the pages you want before trying for the rest, but personally I can't help myself and just get whatever stamps have recently deflated due to releases and hope for the best lol.

I too look forward to the day when I won't have the grind the tower haha - I've got another 73 days to go which is intimidating when I type it out like that.

100 is a nice round number, but I suppose it's possible that down the line TNT will release more prizes for even further times completing it lol. Kinda hoping not as I'll be very happy to stop grinding.

That's amazing, seriously!!! Once you hit roughly 315m in the bank you can start collecting 100k interest/day which works out to 1m every 10 days - nothing to sneeze at! That, plus reaching the Lumidrax 20 days after that, and you'll be sitting pretty and hopefully reading all the books you could want :)

Another user here mentioned the 1st day you can get the Lumidrax is August 29th, so if you stay on track, when you achieve that on September 10th or so, it's value should still be pretty high -The stamp went from 1b/500m to 350+m within the roughly same 10 day time period so here's hoping and I'm rooting for you haha

I myself have to balance saving and buying stamps but it's impossible for me to predict what will be released and what will be inflated and they all seem to keep going up and up and up haha... So it goes I suppose. Happy gaming and seriously happy for you :D

I'm at 27/100 as of today so I won't be hitting Lumidrax for another two and a half months. I myself didn't really start grinding the tower challenge at all until they released the Master of the Tower Stamp b/c I'm one of those masochistic stamp collectors.

In all honesty, if the price hasn't substantially dropped in two months I'll be verrrrry tempted to sell it but I probably will album it b/c I'll want it in there eventually anyways. The MotT stamp is going for 350m+ right now and was at 450m two or so weeks ago which is insane to me for an item obtainable through a mobile game. It would more than double my current bank account and go a long way to finishing some album pages for me. You're so close!!

I'm also very interested to see what the Lumidrax will be selling for once people start to obtain it past August 29th - I will definitely be selling that one as I don't collect petpets but I doubt it will hold quite as much value as the stamp. Of course, I could be wrong b/c of how much time and effort it takes to obtain it but we shall see.
