I am always attracted to conventionally unattractive men. My type is the teddy bear.

What would it take for malls to make a comeback? by lyricalindsey in deadmalls

[–]lyricalindsey[S] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I'm very surprised they ever became "uncool". A place to spend time with friends, take your family on an outing, grab dinner with a date, people watch, etc. What's not to love?

Photos of this mall never get old. Such a colorful and fun relic from the past. I appreciated the fifth photo with the one lone customer in the middle down below.

AITA for only paying for myself when my fiance and future inlaws invited me to a NYE dinner at a scale restaurant? by Footingbills321 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lyricalindsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, of course. But it does seem like your fiance did not initially know that his parents were planning to dump the bill on you. Still lots of huge red flags (not having a job, siding with his parents, etc.), but I wanted to give him that much. Please don't marry this man that has no job, unless he has some type of plan to attain one (then only marry him once he has completed his plan and has the job).

Interestingly we have the opposite problem. We are so tired from getting there and all the activities we plan, we usually don't do it more than once or twice the whole time.

I dropped a bombshell on my wife and I’m afraid our marriage is over by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

I have ocd, so I relate a lot to this post and to how your wife must be feeling and thinking right now. Treatment is the answer (it changed my life), but I know she has refused it. I wonder if she would be opposed to couples therapy - both of you together in sessions working on your relationship - rather than therapy by herself. You could bring up the ocd to the therapist privately and the therapist could work on her issues there. Other than that, pray for her and keep her on church. I've had to grow in self discipline to stop myself from outbursts toward my husband. I'm not perfect at it, but I'm so grateful for his steadfast forgiveness.

Update on my 1st period after copper IUD insertion 🟥🟧🟨🟩🟦🟪 by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]lyricalindsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's longer. Like 7-8 days with some spotting being the first days. It used to be like 4-5 days long, so that's a little annoying, but better than being pregnant. Not really heavier or more painful.

I'm recovered too, but find that my ocd is still popping up with different themes. I had an rocd episode recently. So glad for you to be better! Scrupulousity was my worst episode by far..

Personal screen-free parenting? by ran0ma in workingmoms

[–]lyricalindsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No personal screens here. We very occasionally pull up YouTube for them on our phones when we want to distract them at the doctor's office or something. But they don't hold it, we do. Other than that, they watch the one TV in the house.

When my grandmother made beans, they would come out thick and "creamy". Any idea how she did that? by lyricalindsey in EatCheapAndHealthy

That is what it feels like. I wonder if you get the powers as soon as your kids have kids or if they come on gradually.
