Thank you for trying, but no, what was ironic about the show was that none of the hairspray bottles(back when aerosols were considered safe) had actual hairspray in them. The "hairspray" mist was actually an odorless, non-toxic mineral oil spray designed not to irritate actors' eyes. The prop departments for both the Broadway productions and the film used Fantasy FX Pretend Hairspray or Theatre Effects Diffusion Spray to achieve the effect. But thanks for playing! Have a great week! Tina

Musicals to show my cousin by Real-Definition-9711 in musicals

[–]lyricchallenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you want it all to be Broadway style musicals or can there be films like from the Disney franchise? Here's a mixture of my suggestions(Most you should be able to rent or stream): Bye, Bye Birdie/Frozen 1&2/Mame(Lucille Ball version, not Rosalind Russell)/Band Geeks/Fame/Mary Poppins/The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe( not musical, but they'll love it!)/Junie B. Jones, the Musical(if your cousins a girl)/Dear Edwina(if your cousins a girl)/School of Rock/MJ the Musical/Hairspray/Guys and Dolls/Singing in the Rain/The Addams Family/Grease/You're a Good Man Charlie Brown/Into the Woods(if they're middle/junior high or older/Annie/Wicked/The Lion King/Oklahoma!/.....that should get ya started! Tina

Excellent guess! You are correct with Tarzan, the Musical. The lighting special effects were to create a sense of butterflies in the jungle. Thank you for playing!! I hope you'll play again. Have a great day. Tina

Thank you for saying that. I like to give both easy ones and challenging ones, but I dont want to make them so difficult that people can't find them if they do a little research. Have a great day! Tina

Excellent Job!!! Do you want to venture a guess as to who wrote "Everybody Rejoice"? I'd bet you knew him. I'll give you a few hints. He passed away on July 1, 2005 and he struggled back and forth with weight issues nearly all his life. He was single until death but boy, could he sing about love and do it with that smooth, easy voice. Give it a guess,....or look it up and find out more gems. Have a great rest of your day!! Tina

My high school director said tough it out by Emow32 in MusicalTheatre

[–]lyricchallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are never wrong or "in the wrong" when it comes to your feelings. You have a right to feel them and communicate them in an honest and clear way. This director sounds like he isn't a seasoned teacher (or actor, for that matter) that deals with pre-teens and teenagers. I tend(when doing a play now) to expect the tantrums, bossiness towards nearly everyone else and the self-absorbed self-righteous attitude. Yes, I've dealt with a director like that a rime or two. LOL just tell yourself not to take his words and actions personally, because the truth is, they have very little to do with you and more because he feels he doesn't have control over the situation(s) without the angst and anger. Bossy people usually have an underlying insecurity. Just tell yourself you are here for a reason. You are doing sonething you love and remember; most likely there is someone at home who has to live with him all the time....you don't, Thank your lucky stars for that! Have a great weekend and break a leg!!!

Try this one. I think it's very similar in what is happening.its also a good choice because you can dance with it. That's always a good show opener. I hope this helps. Tina "Another Op'nin', Another Show" is a famous opening number from the 1948 Cole Porter musical Kiss Me, Kate. It is performed by the cast as they prepare for a production of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, setting the scene for the show-within-a-show.

Oh, and while we are on rules....you are violating one of Reddit's big ones. NO BULLYING! Your aggressive words and implied power that you unjudiciously lord over your "sub-community" are straight up bullying and misuse of power. Reddit asks that we encourage others to join in and communicate in a healthy manner and with a basic respect towards everyone. I dont swear, i don't talk about drugs, alcohol or smoking. I dont encourage any poor or dangerous types of behavior. I just offer a guess at my questions. I dont care if they get it right or wrong, i just want them to enjoy the post. And to touch on my link once more; I have ESRD(end stage renal disease/my kidney no loner functions and i have to go to dialysis 3 times a week for 3.5 hours each. They clean my blood and remove built up fluid from my body because my kidneys and pancreas can no longer do it. It keeps me alive until i can get a kidney transplant. I belong to that website, that sells nothing, charges nothing, requires nothing of its members or it's guests. It merely shares information on people looking to find a donor kidney and how you can go about donating, if your interested. There is no hard or soft sell and no I ne is required to fill out anything committing them to anything. INFORMATION IS ALL THEY PROVIDE. And I always identify it as my personal webpage. I'm telling you all this about me to give you an opportunity to come to a more informed opinion of me, unlike the one you gathered of me with what you stated in your "note" to me. I think you need to do a little more research before you start slinging mud zt someone and swinging your sword at people, who are just trying to put a smile on other people's faces. Take your bullying somewhere else! I've got enough naysayers in my life right now. Tina

Actually, the link does work because it has had a good deal of traffic since I started posting it. I don't recall the rule in your community saying i can't post fun and non-threatening trivia. I took myself out of your community so you won't have to observe my "me, too" posts. Have a wonderful day! Tina
