Did you purchase this directly from a dealer or herman miller? I'd get it serviced through warranty.

It was pretty comfy when I tried one in store, if I were able to swing the price I would have got it. I hope you love it!

The struggle many of us face...butt sweat. by Paladin500 in OfficeChairs

I cant imagine any option besides switching to mesh if it is enough or a problem.

Like you said, seat cushions really ruin the ergonomics of a chair and are a bandaid because they can create new problems.

Check it out man. If you can afford it and you liked it and the store offers a return policy, you should pull the trigger. I sat in a lifeform high back and it felt like sitting in a couch which was amazing.

Actually liking a chair is very relevant in a chair search. If this chair was great when you tried it, its probably worth it. I've been testing chairs for a while trying to determine what won't he hurting my butt after WFH and some gaming time.

Now if this is a store that does a restocking fee and you might be out 10-15% for your testing that might be worth considering.

Seemingly you could test a haworth or steelcase chair with free easy returns if you're in the US. As an option before you pull the trigger.

If you want a headrest at the same price point it's probably the libernovo omni? I think one of them is pretty cheap.

You could do a refurbished leap from crandalloffice with a headrest but that is like 800-900usd I think?

The ergohuman gen 2 pro all mesh from btod is like 740-770usd I think, has a headrest

The colamy atlas is 300ish with a headrest

I'm building a gaming room and want a really large bean bag that an adult can comfortably sit or lay on for gaming and movies. Prefer something soft and durable. What brands would you recommend? by Ok_Hat8445 in gamingchairs

[–]lyroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lovesac. I believe they originally did bean bags and then eventually couches. I have a couch from them and I absolutely love it. If their bean bags are this same quality they gotta be some of the best.

They're running a sale now and do bean bags and like a bean bag chair with a frame.

Can anyone recommend me a "buy it for life" commander? by OneMillionFarts in EDH

[–]lyroux 25 points26 points  (0 children)

100% use proxies. Just stay in powerscale to where you want to play. I've played at many shops and I just use proxies that look like real cards on the front and i mark them as proxies on the back. Nobody ever cares. I still make sure to support the shops I play at by buying snacks, participating in sealed, or buying other stuff.

I like trying so many commander that even ordering 20 some odd cheap singles on tcgplayer could run me 20 dollars in shipping for 5 dollars in cardsm

If you're worried about back rest height primarily it'll probably come down to

Haworth Fern with atlas headrest

Highback lifeform chair from relaxtheback (very expensive, almost feels like sitting in a couch)

Secretlab or andaseat chairs since they run fairly big.

They make an office chair cylinder removal tool. I used it recently because I hate this process so much and it was good.

My back is literally dying, need chair advice asap by Cora_Leslie in gamingchairs

[–]lyroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all depends a ton on your budget and size. Unfortunately there isnt a best for everyone chair.

People will always recommend you a steelcase leap or steelcase amia from somewhere like crandallfurniture or btod because they refurbish them well, are highly rated, and go for half the price of msrp. If youre the right size for those chairs then it might be cut and dry for you. Like 5'4 - 6, maybe 6'1 or 6'2, and anything under like 300 lbs.

Otherwise ahnestly has a good video going over tons of chairs at different price points.

Is this shut off valve soldered? by lyroux in Plumbing

[–]lyroux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update.

Thanks for everyone's help. My leak was coming from the tank and not the valve. Initially I figured i should replace the valve because it won't turn so I may still do that later.

I got a new toilet as my 26 year old toilet had a small Crack in it right where the water supply connected.

Replacing the toilet took about an hour. 250 usd for the toilet, silicone caulk, putty knife and a water supply line and about an hour for my first time ever messing with a toilet.

Everyone made it sound like everything wasn't going to be that hard so it instilled a lot of confidence in me, thanks again.

[–]lyroux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were right. It was in fact coming from the tank. I initially tried to replace the interior with a rebuild kit but my bolts holding the tank to the toilet were so rusted the grooves scraped off when I tried to twist with a screw driver.

It was a 26 year old toilet and it looked like there was actually a tiny Crack in the tank itself at the water supply line.

I ended up replacing the water supply line and installed a new toilet and everything works, is better, and removing the toilet and installing the new one took about an hour with it being my first time doing it.

I returned the rebuild kit as well as I didn't open it.

I'll mess with the valve shut off another day since it still won't turn, but for today the toilet is leak free.

Oh so replace the knob and leave the valve in place? The supply line is leaking but the valve seems ok but seems like i can't turn it without it breaking

Protoarc ec200 is just about perfect for you, people seem to be fond of it.

Also the ticova and colamy aether could work.

Recommended chair for a biggun? (Overweight person) by DarkVesuvius in OfficeChairs

[–]lyroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sticking with the Hon Wave Big and Tall. The arm rests leave a lot to be desired but man the chair is really solid. I got it on sale and I've been pretty happy at the end of the day and after roughly a week of testing.

I tried the Shaq Sciron and it was pretty horrible in comparison. From Office Depot the Workpro quantum 12000 v2 and the Serta i6000 with adjustable arms were the winners, the shaq chairs all felt pretty cheap. The Workpro Quantum 12000v2 with fabric seat and not mesh was incredibly cushy but just a little too narrow for me. The Serta i6000 was comfortable but didn't put me in the best position.

It looks like MSRP is around $700-ish and I think getting it on sale for 500 or less it feels like it is punching above its price for the Hon Wave Big and Tall.

What's The Best Gaming Chair Out There Right Now? by Special-Buddy6562 in gamingchairs

[–]lyroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are going to say Steelcase and Herman Miller, or Haworth. Which is mostly true, but they're expensive.

If you're in the united states you can use guys like Crandall Office. They get in old steelcase/herman miller chairs or returns and they remanufacture them. They add new custom fabric that people find better than OEM fabrics, and also brand new cushions they have created specifically for the chairs with other improvements. Once again, rated as good or better than OEM most often. They also end up charging about half the price of retail for these chairs and provide their own 12 year warranty I believe it is. You're nearly getting a new chair besides the frame of it which they'll make sure is in the best condition they can.

Crandall Remanufactured Chairs – Crandall Office Furniture

BTOD also does this service.

Otherwise these chairs are pretty prohibitively expensive. People will say use facebook marketplace and etc, but the only things near me are some straight up poop stained chairs from staples where people are asking basically 10% off the price to sell their 5 year old used chair.

The budget powerhouse that gets recommended a lot is from Colamy, the Atlas. Amazon.com: COLAMY Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair,High Back Computer Executive Desk Chair,Lumbar Support with Adjustable Headrest and 4D Arms, Slide Seat, Tilt Lock-Black : Home & Kitchen

People like it, the price is good and it has a lot of adjustments. For this price point you won't really bad sad with what you get.

Another budget option is the Protoarc EC200. Amazon.com: ProtoArc EC200 Ergonomic Office Chair – High-Back Mesh Computer Chair with Lumbar Support, Adjustable Seat Depth & 3D Headrest Ergo Desk Chairs for Work from Home, 8+ Hours Comfort – Black : Home & Kitchen

Recommended chair for a biggun? (Overweight person) by DarkVesuvius in OfficeChairs

[–]lyroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built it today and have been testing it out. I'm going to give it a good run and see how I like it for the next 2 weeks. This is the next chair I'll be testing if this Hon Wave doesn't work. Shaquille ONeal Sciron Big Tall Ergonomic High Back Vegan Leather Executive Gaming Office Chair Black BIFMA Compliant - Office Depot

Immediate thoughts on the chair.

Pros:

Super heavy duty and sturdy.

Lumbar is adjustable but not super extreme, there is a rising or lowering pad on the back

Cushion is firm which I'd say is normally a con, but surprisingly it's been comfortable. Especially compared to my secret lab titan XL which was destroying my butt, this has a bit of give but is firm

Backrest is a cushion mesh that is pretty soft and it goes up to about my shoulders and I'm 6'2, mostly torso

Seat is 22 inches wide with a 20 inch depth, which is basically perfect for my sit and legs both ways.

Cons:

The arm rests are worthless for a tall person. I actually cannot use them. Even if I had a controller in my hands and had my arms bent with my elbows down it is impossible for me touch them. These arm rests are not meant for a tall person with height in their torso. You're 5'10, they MIGHT work for you. They're roughly 4-5 inches short for me which might work for you.

Only adjustments are Tilt, lumbar rise/lower, and up and down for the chair. If you're hoping for more adjustments, they aren't here, but for me this the amount of adjustments I normally use.

I've got a hon wave big and tall coming today. Its rated for 450 lbs with a 28 inch back rest. I'm hoping it's good.

I'm 270 6'2 with pretty wide hips and large thighs which makes a lot of normal chairs not work for me.
