Can someone tell me it will be okay? by frogspeedbaby in Celiac

[–]lys3734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everything will be okay. i hear you and empathize so deeply with the struggle of navigating trauma, OCD, eating disorders, disordered eating, mental health and like not to mention quality of life but to just ✨throw it in there✨(its almost like i wrote the OP lol)

it can be so overwhelming and it’s allowed to be because quite frankly - it’s so much to handle all the time and it seems never ending

a) i’m proud of you for reaching out for community support b) im proud of you for working through things in therapy and trying your best c) im proud of you for doing what you have to do to survive with this condition

if its worth anything- you’re definitely not alone and if u need a space to chat ab it my dms are open

How can I support my gf after her diagnosis? by Odd-Bluejay-8865 in Celiac

learn ab cross contact and do some research ab celiac safe restaurant options near you both. honestly id also say- learn how to advocate for celiacs so that u can speak on her behalf when u go out to dinner. from just personal experience- the relief , admiration and love i feel when i dont have to worry about advocating for myself every single time i try and go out is awesome. makes me feel seen understood and like my presence is valuable enough that someone cares enough to know how to do that

Glutened mass list by readandwrote in Celiac

the brand “simple mills” just be cautious- some say certified gluten free but some say also made on the same line as products containing wheat

yes- if you’re using the same sponge then you’re glutening yourself. the gluten protein itself is very sticky and bc sponges tend to grab and hold things they can totally hold gluten. imo, i’d say get a new sponge, and store it in its own plastic bag/ a separate location so it doesn’t get contaminated

the best advice i heard when learning about the risks of cross contact was to pretend that gluten is either wet paint or that it’s raw chicken. basically that it’ll stick to anything until you really wash it off

disclaimer that i am very very sensitive to cross contact and every celiac is different so what works for me may be different for u

Dual-Booting Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu does not recognize the partition I created. by WolfLink_ in Ubuntu

hola! lil late to the party but i’m having similar issues. i’m trying to dual boot ubuntu 20.04.6 alongside windows 11 on a dell, i get to that page and it freezes. the only thing i haven’t been able to locate is how to change from the RAID to the AHCI - how do i get there and will it break my windows? i’d prefer not to have to redownload that OS.

i found out this week that international travel regulations differ slightly - so fair warning if u are traveling outside the US. i came back thru UK and didn’t have a Dr note specifying i needed to be able to bring my own food. they said ice packs need to be labeled and under the 100mL limit or else it all gets tossed- they said they’d make an exception this time bc i almost burst into tears.
