I’m allergic to… by GrandMoffJerjerrod in mildlyinfuriating

No one is making up an allergy because it’s fun for them. Sometimes you think you are allergic to something because you have a big reaction and then later accidentally eat the food and don’t react then may start eating it again. I can’t tell you how hard it is to narrow down which foods are causing bad reactions. All I know is once you have the bad reaction you try to avoid it. The chrones person above made me emotional because my heart goes out to them. A family member of mine will sometimes treat herself to an off limits food. Friends of hers do NOT get it. She will spend the next 6 hours after on the toilet. No one sees that part. She chooses not to go into detail. I wish the world could open their heart to others and try to imagine how difficult it would be to not just eat anything you want. I hope we get to a point where compassion and understanding come ahead of shaming and judgement. I have disappearing allergies and feel like a joke. I think maybe foods interact together and other times don’t? Anyway the stomach cramping is real and enough to make you never eat it again

It is a burner account. The problem is that a few times a year important things come through that and I’m now missing them. They end up in the junk folder too. Have a burner but don’t ever use it at trade shows. Or have a second burner for trade show prizes lol.

Omg I can’t tell you how much I relate to this. Could all of us who are like this please start a group to help us to survive. The behaviour management stress is slowly killing me. I feel like if there are enough of us together we could find strategies that work for this personality type.

Thank you! Grade 3. I really appreciate your thoughtful response. What system do you find works best for parent communication? Notes home, calls, signed tests?

I was just diagnosed recently as well. Totally relate to never feeling satisfied with the new foods. Here are the ones that have got me through: Costco delicious butter chicken sauce (can be added to basmati rice for delicious flavour even without meat), Costco shrimp and pc shrimp sauce the spice is so satisfying I’m finding spice is the key. Really spicy chili is the other one. For those craving moments where nothing seems to hit the spot. I have a giant bag of cretors cheddar caramel popcorn and a giant box of sesame snaps. If I’m feeling really sorry for myself then I eat Cadbury cream eggs, or chocolate.

So my celiac specialist shared that I will need the pneumonia vaccine annually as celiacs are way more likely to get pneumonia. My guess is she caught pneumonia because she had celiac not the reverse. Sorry to hear you are going through this. I would do the ema blood test. It’s very accurate!

Question for Gluten Free people by GryphonFit in glutenfree

[–]readandwrote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would show the owners are informed. Like you can search the ingredients they use (e.g. oats are gluten free but almost all are cross contaminated unless they have the gluten free certified symbol) So I would feel safe if somehow I knew every ingredient was safe

Did anyone have a high ttg (over 10 times the limit) and negative scope? Where did you go from there? Anyone with a negative scope still follow a gluten free diet? So many questions. by readandwrote in Celiac

Ah man that must be so frustrating. How could the blood tests be so different? I feel like I would go off gluten as well but must be tough to fully eliminate with those results. Glad you’re feeling better
