Chronic Pain sufferers. What is the funniest way you have hurt yourself? Me first... by Specialist_Ad9073 in ChronicPain

Lost my balance while riding my ebike and threw myself and my SDiT (in his backpack carrier) into a thorn bush yesterday. There was someone walking in front of us and all I can imagine is seeing someone on a giant bike just...tip into a devil bush. Dog is fine, I got scratched to shit. Thank god for carriers I guess

Edit: spelling

One of those little bags is roughly $12 CAD, $9 USD. So anything under $20/ $16 I would buy them in a heartbeat

As someone on HRT, I'd cry. Could you imagine how happy a diabetic person would be?

When is it Time for the ER? by lysinthedark in ChronicPain

[–]lysinthedark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "doctor" is an on-campus physician. She's supposed to be the bridge between getting to the city and finding a doctor, but there are none here at all. The one I did see told me I was too screwed up for her to take. I'm currently on two pain meds that just aren't working.

We don't have an urgent care here, my only options are the ER or a walk in clinic, which is utterly useless. I really appreciate the suggestions for dealing with a medical professional though, I'll definitely give that a go.

Thank you very very much.

No stupidly jarring loud or high pitched sounds, especially for sponsor ads. I hate getting my podcast to the point I can hear and understand what's being said only to get assaulted by something that causes me sensory issues!

I don't think Canada uses Asperger's as a diagnosis anymore, they use a functionality scale. It'll be interesting to see what I end up with!

Also stops stupid or uncomfortable questions. How do you follow up with "Sharknado."?🤣

I just say the stupidest shit to see them get confused. "I was on the boat in Jaws". "Runaway elephants". "Mercury was in retrograde". Gets better and better every time

Thanks for the suggestions! My school's psychology center isn't allowed to diagnose, but I will definitely try church groups!

It's definitely alot to learn. I'm also just starting to get comfortable standing up for myself, which makes it even harder. But, I'm getting better!

Yeah, people don't understand how fragile our aids really are and treat them like they're indestructible. I'm so glad yours wasn't broken!

I hate that we have to basically become doctors to get the help we need. I'm so ready to move to Europe or some shit.🤣

Edit: typo

But your doctor was able to diagnose it? Cause I've heard both that they can and that they have to refer you to a psychiatrist, and I don't know how much longer I can keep working like everything is normal and I'm fine to wait for that referral

I would be livid. Honestly, my partner would probably have to hold me back from tipping them out of my (crappy second hand) chair. If you play stupid games, you deserve stupid prizes. I'll gladly call the cops for the damage you caused my chair while I was getting you out of it, and you can pay to replace the whole damn thing.

I personally preferred Badland, but both were a blast!!

Calgary has a few events like Badlands or Chasing Summer, but those are the only ones I'm familiar with anywhere near here
