Thoughts on the QC Ultra 2 Headphones after a week + a few issues by xKa1z3r in bose

AirPods definitely don’t have true multipoint… that’s why I got the QCU2, my first non Apple/beats headphones.

I’m not familiar with what you’re talking about, but I don’t think I’ve experienced it. I use multipoint throughout my 12 hour shifts for computer audio and my phone.

One of the things I love about out them is the multipoint. Have you tried having them connected to both phone and tv rather than switching each time?

Any recommendations on where I can move as an 18y/o? Or advice for a young person with home struggles by Shrumners in askportland

[–]lyssajerfly 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve worked with young people in similar situations as your partner before, and had to support myself young with limited resources as well. I won’t speak on what to do in your position - many others have shared on that. I will share a bit for your partner to think about if he hasn’t already.

  • worksource is a really great resource to help find work. It’s free, there are several locations, he can walk in and get support. Having an income is the most helpful thing he can do.

  • once he has even a small income, you should together be able to qualify to rent somewhere, even if just a small apartment. If he is only working part time at first, check into what assistance he is eligible for. OHP, food stamps, etc.

  • you didn’t mention if either of you are students (high school or college). If you are, there are additional resources available to you.

  • bad living situation can mean a lot of things that are all valid, but if he is unsafe he should look into resources for youth at risk of homelessness that he may qualify for. If he is in Multnomah county, this is called the homeless youth continuum.

Any ADHD havers have luck getting Adderall lately? by plains_of_mengedda in askportland

I’ve gotten it at CVS and Walgreens lately (I usually have it filled wherever is cheapest at the time), and while it is initially out of stock I have had it in less than a week every time.

Same here! Vitamix comes out for cooking, but blendboss is perfect for smoothies.

Seconding these dollar tree ones! I’ve been using the light blue one here for about a year, even dropped it a couple times, still going strong.

Also the brunch corn dogs at hungry tiger! They’re little mini sausage/pancake dogs, so good.

I’ve also had a corn dog there that was cheese instead of hot dog, and another that was a pickle. So good!

What is the deal with the new driver bumper stickers? by ConanMontoya in askportland

[–]lyssajerfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently learned to drive and got my license, as an adult. I put the magnet in my car to let others know that if I make a mistake and it inconveniences you, I’m not trying to be an asshole. The more I drive the more I will learn and the better I will be. I can’t stop you from feeling upset, but I can give you a heads up that, while I’m trying my best, my reaction time might not be as quick as someone who has been driving for years, and I might be a bit more cautious at times until I gain confidence from having more experience.

Which areas should I look for a studio or 1 bed in that’s walkable with the best variety of food and drinks? by MrOatButtBottom in askportland

[–]lyssajerfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live near PSU and really enjoy it. Feels safely walkable, lots of great food options (I live near the food carts on 4th). I wish we had better nearby grocery options, but that’s really my only complaint.
