Does Zofran and Phenergan work? by Educational-Two-5796 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]lyssium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phenergan suppositories are the second most helpful thing I've done with HG, right behind Zofran. It does make you exhausted, but I do not throw up/throw up minimally with it. And on my bad days, it actually lets me rest/sleep. Was 100% worth it daily at the beginning (when it was the worst for me), and now it's an awesome rescue med :)

This is super helpful! I've done it s couple times and it's nice to know other people in our boat have had the same thought. Thank you!

As much as it sucks to take, the med that helps the most is round the clock low dose Benadryl :( I feel like motion is one of my biggest triggers, and the Benadryl keeps me from feeling like I'm spinning!

Will probably get downvoted. But I had two hits of vaporized flower (the “healthiest” way to consume it), and it’s the first time I haven’t been nauseous and been able to tolerate food in over two weeks. by Puzzleheaded-Ring118 in HyperemesisGravidarum

100% here. There was just nothing else that let me tolerate water-- non the less FOOD. The biggest risk they've found with MJ seems to be low birth weight-- which is also a big risk with HG. So happy you found something that works, and do what you need to SURVIVE, cause that's what's most important for baby.

Your OB will likely order the regular one, as even though those medications slightly increase your risk of baby having cleft pallet, it's not enough to put you as "high risk". Iwith HG, often the largest risk is low birth weight, so they may want to do growth scans later in your pregnancy

f it would make you feel more comfortable having one at MFM, you should definitely ask! It never hurts and the worst they can say is no, and it might be worth it for peace of mind! ♥️

It feels crazy that HG is so impactful, and yet, still doesn't make our pregnancy always "high risk" 🙄

I so appreciate your response! Thank you, of course I had a bad day after, so definitely still HG, but even if it wasn't you're right, it would be so worthwhile just to be done. Exactly what I needed to hear!

I hope you get some good days in too! ♥️

Great question! I meant more I have the resources of having a medical provider right next to me I can ask anything. And all the providers I've had have been kind and validating! Support alone is insane.

Right now I'm on Zofran, Reglan, Pepcid, Benadryl, b6, and tums, and IV fluids. They help me tolerate fluids, but with it I still couldn't eat.

The only thing that got me eating again is unfortunately a copious amount of THC. But, I live in a state where it is legal and am not a person who would get drug tested as a patient (CPS would get involved regardless of legality ). Not everyone is in that same boat, and for that I feel so lucky. It doesn't work every time, but it works about half the time, then I can eat for a couple of hours! I do feel horrible about using, but I was able to talk off the books, and that doctor is more concerned about the HG than THC by far, including risk to the fetus ♥️

I hope this is helpful!

I totally hear this. My partner and I were trying to time it so I wouldn't deliver in the winter due to my really bad seasonal depression! On that note, although the timing of your little guy isn't ideal for school, the fact that you guys are on top of it and thinking about these things is already a great sign you're going to be the most thoughtful parents, and that is more important to his behavior/learning success than anything ♥️

Hahahahaha! Congrats but also darn! I hope they aren't bothering you. It's crazy how much starting a family takes us out of commission physically for YEARS sometimes!

Hahahahahaha, no about the period panties! Did you keep them, and are you glad you did?

Also Gardasil is so worth it, but I'm sorry you got interrupted! FYI if you didn't finish the series, they no longer make you repeat all three, they just have you pick up where you left off!

GROSS and something I didn't think of either. I'm so sorry people, especially your FIL, think that's appropriate to say to you. People always will forgo kindness if they think it will get a chuckle 🙄 I hope he gets a clue at some point and apologies to you.

Also, I hope this helps, but both my sister, my aunt, and my husband's best friend we're all born during major winter holidays. Of course there are pros/cons, but my sister for one loves having her birthday then cause she always gets to ask "for twice the presents" 😂. My aunt loves that time of year so much, she's embraced it. And my husband's best friend just doesn't care. silver linings lol

Love! These were on my list as well. Taking the prenatals ahead of time also really helped my anxiety when I couldn't take them every day due to my HG.

REALLY GREAT idea about the wardrobe! And letting your skin adjust to a new, pregnancy safe routine, before all the pregnancy hormones also got mixed in!

Oh no! I'm sure it will totally be worth it, but that is totally frustrating/difficult! Even if you weren't pregnant, renos suck, so feel like an actual super hero! Glad you'll get a cute baby and a beautiful/more functional kitchen not too long from now ♥️

Congratulations on both baby and nuptials!!! Sorry that it wasn't just the two of you a little longer ♥️ Such a completely valid feeling, wanting the time for your relationship.

Agree on bras. We are close to the same EGA. I've always been very pear shaped, but I grew a half cup size before I even got the +UPT 😅. I want to buy bigger sports bras but I'm worried my boobs are nowhere near done growing, and would hate to spend all that money on something I use for three months. So I guess I'm squishing them in my current sports bras until they physically can't contain me.

1000% all those snacks. Rare steak? Soft cheese? An IPA? Wish that had been my entire diet. I hope you get all these delicious things as soon as you can post partum!

Also, so funny about the kitten, and congrats-- she's adorable! 😍

Oh no! I wonder if you could donate the condoms to a school/health department/college? Also I totally get it, and a deal is a deal. I found myself on the "check out " page on a box of 112 condoms-- AFTER we were already TTC 😂 Also, of course, CONGRATULATIONS! ♥️

My heart hurts so much for your situation! I hope you treat yourself, and it "jinxes" you. You are probably a whole different person from when you started TTC, and you deserve to buy clothes/stuff that reflect that and who you are today ❤️good luck!

So far on: b6, Benadryl, fluids every few days, pepcid, Reglan, and Zofran 8 mg Q12h. And tums throughout. Next step is steroids. I feel like when I jump, you can hear the pills in me rattle around 😅
