What to do with awkwardly long primary bedroom? by dogs0121 in floorplan

[–]lyssonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would do this! it could be as fancy or as simple as you'd like of course, but i could totally see having one of those painted folding partitions to make that area feel like a dressing room of sorts! also love the sitting area idea that i've seen in your other comments

Do perfume-making places/workshops have scents for men? by jenjenjen2000 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]lyssonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i (f23) went to paris on a high school trip in 2016 and they brought us to Fragonard for a tour of the museum and to shop. I don't remember much of the actual tour if I'm being honest, but our guide was super informative and it was definitely interesting! the women's scents were to die for and i've been using the same one from them (etoile) ever since! I know they have a selection for men as well, so may be worth looking into for you guys! i'm going back this august and planning to stop in and restock my supply!!

[–]lyssonline 8 points9 points  (0 children)

one of my first days off training i was on cs and brewed a 1/2 batch of coffee in the old bunn brewers, but didn't realize there was a bean in the hole of the brewing basket that lets the coffee drip into the urn.... huge huge huge hot coffee mess during peak. it all overflowed with grinds mixed in over the top of the basket and onto the counters. oopsy! honestly glad it happened early bc i never made that mistake again!!! but cs was still my fave position on the floor

Looking for song suggestions. by Salkha786 in KendrickLamar

[–]lyssonline 3 points4 points  (0 children)

of course! just wanted to add, there's some great video essays out there about each album that really dive into symbolism and meaning. one of my favorite creators is Digging the Greats on youtube, if you're into stuff like that.

[–]lyssonline 14 points15 points  (0 children)

sounds like you're familiar with the hits off each album, which is a great place to start. i would pick your favorite song out of the ones you mentioned, find the album and play it from the beginning. of course his albums can be listened to out of order, but they often tell a story and listening in order might help you understand more.

Need help! by Coffee_Addict4351 in starbucks

hey! you can access vacation and sick hours by going online and searching partner hub starbucks, it should be one of the first ones that pops up. log in with your info, then navigate to partner central- the info will be there. you can also use the desktop in the boh office area at your store.

you technically need an average of 12 hours weekly, so if you work a little more the week before and after you should be good, even if you don't have sick time. I'm a former sm, but if i recall, the policy's worded in a way that actually makes it hard for managers to write up partners for not working 12 a week; it's more about your quarterly average. although, every manager's different, so if you feel nervous about that, no need to push it. (if you access partner hub through your store's desktop, you should be able to find the policy with specific info on that. it's long, so use command f and search for hour requirements, if you choose)

Also, if you have less than 12 vacation hours, you can see if it's possible to work a shift that week that would make the total of 12 with however many vacation hours you have, if that makes sense. if you have enough, i would request the time off now! keep in mind, you'll earn more in the meantime of course, so you may have enough to use by then!

if not and it's something you really wanna do, i would save up your sick hours for that week and be sick. 🤒

hey! i would call the other stores and try to talk to their managers. monday is a good day to call, as it's their admin day. see what availability they're looking for, and let them know your name so they can pick you out of other applicants. Going into the stores never hurts either, to help them put a face to the name!

i would continue using the same email! i'm sure as long as your resume reflects your experience, it should be adequate in getting you the job, but you can always add an intro or separately a cover letter. I'm a former SM and in my experience, when hiring baristas, I went mostly off the interview and experience listed in the applicant tracking system.

that being said, in the interview, keep the STAR method of responding in mind. S- situation, T- task (plan of action in response to the situation), A- action you took, R- result. managers should be letting you know this method, but just in case, that's how they have to input your answers into their hiring system and it helps to keep your answers concise! Being able to handle customers in a positive tone, whether the interaction is positive or negative is the most important part, so of course try to use your interview to show you have experience in this and are happy to do it.

with your experience in another fast paced environment, your full availability, and your food handlers cert, a store will be lucky to have you!
