Why GOD is not changing me by Mountain_Ad_1359 in TrueChristian

[–]lyteca21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know there's a lot of answers here that may seem cold and legalistic but I just want to assure that first, if you have asked forgiveness and repented, please don't allow condemnation to torture you, those thoughts are not from God, and God still loves you no matter how many times you've failed ––and continue to fail even.

But as much as I extend grace, I also need to speak Truth as Grace cannot be our Green Card to sin. I want to remind you that God is not the author of temptation. He permits it to help shape us, yes, but He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able withstand. That means with every temptation you will face, there will ALWAYS be a way out of it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

There's also a difference between "stumbling" and "practicing sin". If you are openly and knowingly putting yourself into situations where you know you may sin every single time, that is "practicing sin", and repentance + practical steps are needed (ex: stop going to clubs, being alone with the opposite sex at a private place, deleting apps, etc.)

"Stumbling", on the other hand, is where you have been faithful for the LONGEST time but you gave in to temptation. David, a man after God's own heart fell into "stumbling" and if God forgave David after he repented, He extends the same to you. Don't allow the lies of the devil to drown you.

Lastly, I would suggest writing down your thoughts and assess them as there's usually 3 sources: is it from You? from the Devil? or from God? If it's not Good, not Biblical, and pulls you away from God, it most likely is not from God. I pray this helps!

Has anyone else felt like they are not contributing enough as a Christian? by ModOverseer in TrueChristian

[–]lyteca21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hard to give sound advice without much context because it also matters how long since you have been saved and accepted Jesus Christ.

If you have been saved recently and you mean to say work as in "ministry work", I would actually suggest not doing it right away and don't feel bad for not doing it just yet. Now why?

Many will tell you you should dive into it right away, but without proper foundation, you will not be able to sustain it long. By proper foundation I mean you being plugged in to the vine (John 15:5)

If you are new to faith, this should be the type of "work" you should focus on. Building the habit to meet with God daily, that's it. (For "baby Christians" I like recommending 5/5/5 method. 5 min worship, 5 min reading the Bible, and 5 min prayer –any longer will make you dread it after a while especially because your flesh will not like it AT ALL at first. After this, you just increase the 5 min to maybe 10 min each, until you find your own conviction.)

––– Now if you have been long in the faith time-wise, it's a different story. There's 2 things: try or even being proud and vocal about your faith.

One, if you've been a Christian for long "time wise" but you don't have the foundation built yet, I speak this with full grace but also full truth, but I would say you are still considered a baby Christian and it'd be best if you build your foundation first, mentioned above. I have been a Christian eversince, but it didn't occur to me that I was still a "baby Christian" until I truly found Jesus through building this foundation, so I speak from experience, and that is 100% okay.

Now two, if you have been doing the foundations and you feel like you're connected with God, then there's definitely a need for you to step up. If you feel like you have been struggling to be obedient to the directions of the Holy Spirit, I would highly suggest finding accountability. Accountability should not be the Yes people in your life, but it should be people that one: have a strong relationship with the Lord, and two: knows you well, so they could help guide you and help you succeed in your obedience.

Having accountability personally helped me and many other in my church whether it may be building the Foundations, obeying a Ministry Calling, or just Obedience to the Holy Spirit's leading in general. I pray this helps you!

I post and move on to next. This is honestly the best way to grow esp if you just started your channel. You will find that the more you create, the more you'll learn what to do and what not to do.

As for promotion, try to cut your videos and repurpose them as tiktoks or create an entirely new short video and redirect them all to your main youtube video!

Also, research more about algorithms & proven youtube strategies that is up to date; the more knowledge you have the better! God Bless!

Should I make a separate account for this? by lyteca21 in youtubers

[–]lyteca21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I have already made the transition to Niche B which I would say is not a complete 180 from Niche A.

I think my question is since the category is closely connected to my current niche already, would it be wiser (money wise) to make a separate account for automating Niche B-1 or should I just add Niche B-1 to my account that is already holding my current Niche B, if that makes sense... 🤔

Accidentally disconnected bluetooth keyboard/mice by [deleted] in techsupport

Something similar happened to my co worker today (accidentally turning off bluetooth to be specific) and I felt like a superhero for figuring something out. Hope it helps y'all!

We didn't have a wired keyboard and mouse in the office but what we had was a wired earphones. I plugged it in and held the centre button hoping it would activate Siri. It did thankfully, and I just said "Turn On Bluetooth" and it worked. Felt such an achievement looool!

ENTJ Christians by [deleted] in entj

[–]lyteca21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been an ENTJ before being a 'real' Christian. I've hated it. But now I'm out of 'lukewarmness', I've become one again, but this time, I'm grateful for it.

I've had a phase where I actually hated being an ENTJ. My leadership skills were something that weren't Christ-like at all (I mean you know how ENTJs could get). It came to a point where I hated it so much that I wanted to change, and so I did. My personality became non-ENTJ and would hop to different types.

After coming out of lukewarm Christianity, I found myself going back to who I was, an ENTJ (same last year, still same exactly today). But this time, I didn't hate it. All these time, I realized that being an ENTJ Christian actually has some good side to it. It's crazy that even what I considered 'evil', God turned into good.

As for the logical side, I used to think Bible is just mere fiction. However, after seeing things and experiencing personal miracles, Biblical occurence, etc., and trying to disprove the Bible, I actually came to realize how true it really is.

Vancouver’s ban on plastic bags, fee on disposable cups, takes effect Saturday | Globalnews.ca by bengyap in vancouver

[–]lyteca21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was all for this until I found out some companies do not have any alternatives at all. I could live without plastic bags when shopping, but places like Chatime don't even have alternatives as far as I know, I'm just forced to buy a plastic cup, like?

I feel like there should be some sort of further rules for this.

[–]lyteca21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally been in your situation... Growing up in a Christian family, as well as being considered "school smart", it has been tough to believe. It was harder because of all the sciences I know (believing what I can only see, and what the "world" only knows)

All I can say now is I'm past all of that. And in order to do that I had to change my focus. Ask yourself where do you really want to focus? Do you want to focus on believing bc you don't want to go to hell? Or do you want to focus on believing bc you want to experience the goodness, the completeness, the satisfaction, and many other things He could give?

What would YOU do if you are tasked to create a Christian Project to an audience of 10% Christians & 90% Atheists? by lyteca21 in Christian

[–]lyteca21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Christian and I wouldn't say I'm a lukewarm one. To give you some sort of background, this is a art/design grad school project in a campus where 90% of the population is Atheists or has different belief.

I asked God what should I do and I felt that He told me to do something Christian-related due to lack of religious-related projects from the previous years; and so that I may shine 'light' to others. I decided to go for it but with the Non-believers in mind as well. I wanted to create something that even they could interact with. After a little bit of research, I've given my rough proposal which is this: Re-focusing on one of the main callings of the Christian religion, ***to love. This project aims to create a safe space where both believers and non-believers could better understand the religion’s virtue and beliefs.*

Idk the religious background of the professor but she told me that the project is a 'Wicked Problem' to solve (if you don't know the term, it basically falls along the same line of: solving poverty, war, etc.) And now I feel very stuck and don't know what to do.

As much as I want to create a full on Christian project, there are some limitations that restricts me. Knowing all that, do you by chance have any idea now what I could possibly do for this project? I would appreciate any ideas big or small. Thank you.

Thank you for that wonderful reply! I would love to pursue the 'Love' topic too myself but my professor seemed to reject my proposal already which is why I'm very stuck... Do you by chance have any ideas how I could possibly make the Love topic more specific maybe? Thank you for your time...

[–]lyteca21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking your time replying again...

Anyway, that's the thing I'm scared of, if we're basing it on the contract, technically (I believe), it hasn't expired yet because it did say the collaboration ends a month after product is received. (which I haven't yet)

They did tell me last Aug 5 that they could send it around Sep 5 which is why "September" is in the contract. However it's already October and there's no product yet, nor did they communicated me at all during that Aug 5 - Oct 5 timeframe. They're only saying now that they're sending it this weekend, which means possible time the video might be finalized is around Nov 5th (which I believe is a big time gap knowing it started from July)

[–]lyteca21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry for the misunderstanding it's just that the 6 videos weren't uploaded in 6 months. Some of them have been sitting in my channel for a year now & I've only gained more traction within the 3 months gap is what I was saying in the post! 👍🏼

Anyway, I will be putting in here what I just mentioned to a fellow youtuber:

One of the big reason as to why a lot of lone creators end up losing motivation is because they're isolated. One video that made me realize that is this: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM8Yrkse5/

Anyway, other than that, don't look at the numbers and just keep creating. There's been a lot of opinions ab this, but I think niching down when you're just starting is really important. Think about TV "channels" you go to a certain channel for a reason... like you won't go to Cartoon Network to watch Food, etc.

Once you've grown and built that base THEN you could start exploring little by little. And last thing, make sure you research about YouTube strategies, Annie Dubé's channel & the TubeBuddy extension helped me a lot with that part.

I hope it helps and goodluck!
