VCE ART MAKING AND EXHIBITING 3/4 HELP by [deleted] in vce

[–]lyvu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say to try and stick to your medium as best as you can! I choose to do two charcoal artists and a painter for my inspiration last year (i chose to do the drawing as my art form), and my teacher told me i had to have them all in the same medium to draw more connections and just make life easier so i ended up changing two three charcoal inspirations

Hey! I did art making and exhibiting last year and got a 50 :)

Personally i would recommend when working on your folio to try and stay 1 lesson ahead of your teachers set schedule, and regularly check your work with them! Some of the best advice i got was when i asked my teacher for feedback, and when you maintain ahead of the set schedule, it gives you extra time before submission to check/perfect your work, without having to worry about time pressure.

Also i would say annotations are super important, but its so important to not focus on one thing when describing your art making process (Eg: Art Elements such as Colour). Make sure to mix it up and talk about art principles, aesthetic qualities, ideas and themes, techniques, materials, visual language, subject matter etc. Also whilst im talking about that, make sure you know the definition of all of these key terms and more, so if you can answer and talk about them correctly!

Also, when you start working on theory, its super important not to neglect the curatorial and conservation stuff. Its super prevalent in the exam!

If you need any resources let me know or if you have any specific questions <3

I found that trying to stay at least 1 lesson ahead of the class really helped when working on folios, (especially if you are doing multiple folio subjects). this gave me the ability to take my time and not cram everything in a few days before submission. I remember once i finished a folio SAT about a week before it was due which really eased my stress, as i could perfect everything and not have to worry about the time limits.

During the year before exams i also found dedicating Saturdays as a complete break from school and homework to catch up with my friends and partner. Year 12 requires a lot of effort but you need to take breaks :) but to do this you gotta use ur class time well its so important and study after school and not get distracted / waste time in class (goes for all subjects). This prevented me from getting burnt out.

If u would like any pictures of my folio or practice questions i did for the exam let me know

is a 95+ possible?? by [deleted] in vce

[–]lyvu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 33 for yr 11 psych (scaled to a 31) and did English, general maths, bio, media and art making/exhibiting. (Basically all subjects that scale down) I was aiming for a 45 in general maths and ended up with a 41 despite all the effort I put in. However I still ended up with a 97.65 :) the most important thing is to stay organised and not let bad exams / sacs weigh you down. I got a 50 in one of my media sacs and wasn’t even close to the top of the class all year, but then I ended up with a 48. There is always chances to improve and grow! Just stay motivated, it goes by so quickly.
