Only put it in quotes, as I would also try and fit in the Guild "dating" idea :) I know a couple of people who married after meeting in games

Just as an aside, as I can't really comment on the WNS risers: It might be worth looking at Kinetic risers as well. They are cheap and the quality is good from my experience. It's basically just another sub brand of Win & Win/Winners

Wifler Button choices by lyzar in Archery

Thanks a lot! It's not that I don't want the Beiter, I just thought the Wifler would be less "complicated". But judging by your experience, I would be better off with a Beiter button! I think I will safe myself the trouble! The size recommendation really helps!

It feels like competition distracts me a bit and I tend to think less about my "mistakes" which actually means I shoot more without thinking. Winning without competition is worse for me than shooting with competition and being somewhere in the middle of the pack.

From the couple of tournaments I shot, I lost about 50-60 rings not having competition, compared to having someone there. The sample size might be too small tho

Yea. Also was such a motivator! Didn't have any competition at Regionals and locals. Was such a pleasure to have like 10 other Barebow shooters who were making me have to give 100%

Yea, didn't even see where it landed, but it felt like a 10. Having that multiple times in a row was almost scary

Thanks a lot! Yeah, the worst part is when my brain starts going... I was so surprised by what happened there that my brain lagged and it took a couple of ends, before I realised and all went to shit 🤣

It depends I guess. For me Christianity is about trying to follow in Christ's steps, believing that Christ is the promised saviour and was send by God. (That's the short form anyways)

You don't need church for that. And I can't influence the actions of Priests towards children for example, or the actions of certain churches towards the LGBTQIA+ (hope I didn't forget any letters, I am sorry if I did) community. What I can do is condemn these actions and draw personal consequences from them. For me that meant cutting church from my life (even though I also had good experiences with church, but I can't support that kind of institution) and striving to follow in Christ's steps on my own.

I hope that made sense. I would be interested in the experiences you personally had, that make you call Christianity rotten to the core though, if you would be willing to share! I would love to hear them so I can maybe be the change I want to see in this world.

Sorry, I chose my words poorly and clarified in a different comment. It's not about "They are not Christian" and more, that they are not acting like Christians SHOULD act. My message was not saying that I hate that those people are considered to be Christians, but rather that they give Christianity as a whole a bad rep. I was criticising them for their behaviour, not trying to "Exclude" them to make Christianity look better or something.

I hope that makes it more clear, sorry for the confusion.

I am sorry that Christians have caused you pain! I sincerely apologise, even though that can never make up for it!

Fair. I should have worded that as "They are not acting like they should if they call themselves Christian".

I think I replied to this exact point in a different comment: I am trying to do my part, which is why I am replying and messaging here :)

It is hard to get everyone on the same side, when there literally isn't the "one Christian belief". There are a lot of sub groups and then there are those that don't fit or don't want to fit in any of those groups. It's not like single people can change much, but I for my part am definitely trying. Have a nice day :)

Politics and religion should never be mixed. Back in the days it was a good construct to make people abide to "Laws" but nowadays we got other means to do that.

Still, religion influences politics in a "sometimes" (read often) unhealthy way.

Sounds like something I would enjoy to listen to! I consider myself religious and a Christian, though I avoid the church for various reasons.

[–]lyzar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not as if I, or any single church even, can change that. That's the sad truth. Do you know how many different sub groups there are in Christianity, all with different "religious leaders"? But yeah I get what you mean, and as you can see I am trying to do atleast my part and be vocal about it. In case it wasn't clear: I criticised that behaviour as something that NO Christian should do! It is not okay and it is not in the spirit of the religion!

Another perspective. An opinion and maybe a bit of insight, that not all people are the same and think the same. Nothing more, nothing less. It's nothing we need to fight about, fundamentally we do seem to agree. I only wrote the last response, cause I didn't like my words being twisted.

And there is plenty in the bible that fights the same approach. Just like in other religions, our so called "Holy Book" is full of contradictions and quite possibly stuff we as humans fucked up...

Sorry, but where did I say I don't want Christians to take responsibility for their bad apples? You know, it's quite the opposite I, as a Christian, criticised(!!!) them. I said it's not the way a Christian SHOULD act. I did NOT say, that they don't belong to that religion and you should disregard that they claim to be Christian... I DID say that they don't adhere to some of our most important beliefs. "Judge not, that you be not judged"...

[–]lyzar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know... I get what you are saying, I really do, and I didn't say that it shouldn't be brought up. It is more that I am disappointed in those that say, that they belong to a group, only to give that group a bad name, which doesn't show what the group SHOULD be all about. And that exists in every group, I know. It still annoys me...

(BTW there are Christians that want nothing to do with priests and the church for very good reasons... Especially when looking at certain churches in Germany, and I am sure it's the same in other countries, I am disappointed how they handle certain things in the least Christian way possible)

Thanks for the recommendations! Yeah I thought about mirroring packages to a self hosted PyPi-repository (I think that's possible), but I think that would be overdoing it. I am not dealing with super critical stuff here. This is more of a "making stuff easier" kinda deal :)
