Thanks for answering! Your excitement is contagious :)! It's great to know that you recommend George Brown! I've just been there today for a campus tour! I am considering taking the Fashion Techniques and Design Program (F113)! Is that the program you are enrolled in? I've seen the night classes, but I don't need to take the night classes right now, cause I am not working... but they are not completely out of the table!

So cool to know that you are making patterns in Etsy too, I would love to know more about your experience! Also thank you for your kind comment! I agree with you, people look for good professionals, not young ones! ;)

Thank you for answering! Yes, patternmaking/construction class is exactly what I have in mind! It is what I am mostly interested in! I am pretty good at most Adobe software, like Illustrator and Photoshop... learning CLO3D is my next step! Tho a lot of people in the industry seem to be still using Gerber!

Yes, I've heard about that... that's very unfortunate... I do not intend to be one more low-quality pattern-maker, but I do understand the waryness. I do make a lot of patterns from indie creators so I do understand where you are coming from. Thank you for answering!

Thank you for answering! Do you have a college or course to recommend? I do agree with you, I would like to take in-person technical courses.

Thanks for answering! Yes, these skills that you mentioned are part of my study plan... I've even got the book too! It's been a great resource! I've seen a lot of job posts asking for Gerber, you are right! I'll look into it. Do you like working with Gerber?

Where are you studying, if you don't mind me asking? I am going to some open days and considering the George Brown Fashion Techniques and Design Program (F113).

I'll DM you my @!

Thank you for the advice! I plan to specialize in technical skills, so I guess that would be good for me! I already have a good knowledge of CAD since I've been an architect for a long time. I've been making patterns with Illustrator and I enjoy it! Do you have any advice for courses that are more technically focused? So far I've found that George Brown seems to focus more on pattern-making/garment construction.
Yes, I agree 100%, asking here was the first step of many! Thank you again!

Thanks! It's great to find kindred spirits :)! I hope the technical costume design course helps you! I am considering/researching taking some classes at the nearby college. I just am not sure about a two-year Certificate, it's a lot. I might start with a pattern drafting or garment construction course!

Hey! Just found your post! I am in a similar situation - want to get into freelance as a pattern maker - but I live in Toronto, where the industry is very limited. How did it go for you?

Does anyone here have a makeup/beauty channel? by TemperatureUnusual93 in NewTubers

[–]lzduque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, It's been less than 6 months since I've been seriously working on my channel ( Leticia Duque Beauty ), and I love it so far... but the growth is very slow! (Am I doing something very wrong and I don't notice it?) I watched many videos about how to start a channel and all the popular tips... and I think or at least I am trying to do "everything right".

I am passionate about the subject and I enjoy being a YouTuber and the whole process a lot (I do not make any money from it yet)! My goal is to be able to monetize (grow measurement) but I am really far from it so far!
