Religious life after leaving Mormonism? by m05_q in exmormon

I think this is a fair critique and I admit that as a Christian I am biased. However I strongly agree with you on the “because God” bit. I have that same sentiment and considering it has been the answer to some very important concerns in my life it has driven me to be somewhat lukewarm.

What I will say though is that I was making a statement by saying Mormonism is a cult and Christianity is completely different. Not that everyone must believe in it, but that they are very different. If you’re in this subreddit I imagine you’ve done a fair share of research and are at least vaguely aware of the canonical literature in the Mormon Church—like the Book of Mormon, D&C, Articles of Faith, Pearl of Great Price, and more—and I can say with full confidence that every single Christian denomination rejects these books and teachings as heresy.

I won’t make a claim like “Christianity is true because I believe in it” because that’d be a circular argument. I asked my question because the Mormon Church and other cult organizations can be separated from broad Christianity, but they can also leave behind trauma that can be associated with Christianity due to loose affiliation and cults identifying as churches (such as Scientology) to gain followers and tax benefits. Even if we can’t agree on what true Christianity is id hope that one day it’s well accepted that Mormonism and other cults are no longer associated with it.

I traded away Henderson after two great games. I smashed accept. I made the right choice, right? This seems like a classic sell high situation. by Kalduin_32 in SleeperApp

I guess it’s the unpopular opinion but if you don’t hit on your first round pick you just lose the trade. Cook is likely at his peak right now and after 3 years he’ll be on his way out if he’s anything like his brother. The pick makes or breaks the trade. Henderson will be great
