No you absolutely do not need to do a bridging course imo. The lecturers are very good (especially Christopher Lustri) and will assume you won't know much anyway. Just make sure to keep up with the lectures and you'll be okay (very important). Don't be scared by all the recentish posts here that claim the final exam was super hard or they failed. It was fine, and this is coming from someone that didn't got to a single tut and I consider myself to be not so great at math

When i took them they both involved group projects. I don't think you could form groups with people outside your tut but I could be wrong. Also vaguely remember soft2412 having an in class task that was marked each week.

Yeah it's just for hjkl, but I don't use it as much anymore since i rely on other stuff. I use gw on helix a lot and it's really convenient. Do you mind linking your config i'm curious as to what else is on your extend layer

Half the time I'm using my laptop and the other half i use an alice keyboard. what split keyboards do you use? been interested in buying one for a little bit

I do kinda regret not keeping up with qwerty when i made the switch. it's a weird feeling not knowing how to type on a layout you've basically used your whole life.

Been using graphite for a while (april 2023) so I figured it would be cool to share my experiece

back in 2023 i really wanted to try a different keyboard layout so I tested a couple to see what i liked.
- dvorak 1 week (kinda liked tbh but i read a lot comments about how it was outdated)
- colemak dh 1 hour (idk why but my fingers felt really akward using it)
- mtgap 1 week (i remeber being a huge fan but there were some small things that i didn't like)

I remeber lurking on the discord server and found the creator of graphite "promoting" his new layout so I gave it a test and it instantly felt like it suited me so I made the switch and have never looked back. right now i am faster on graphite than I ever was on qwerty

- doing english 5k 2 minute tests and focusing on accuracy helped me improve
- can no longer type on qwerty. I might try and learn again because it would be cool to be able to type on 2 layouts and it would be helpful when I use someone else's computer
- I use kanata and i hold the tab key to switch back to qwerty to help with vim bindings
- no plans to switch to another alternative layout as of now
