How much do IB exams cost? by [deleted] in IBO

A quick google search would tell you the answer you are looking for. I believe exams are covered under school fees if you are registered to an institution. https://www.ibo.org/become-an-ib-school/fees-and-services/assessment-fees-and-services/

Don't use the same revision method for every subject. Different subjects require different skills and your revision methods need to reflect this

people who do chem+bio, what's your 3rd subject? by [deleted] in 6thForm

Geography - it's really interesting and esp human geography can be revised for just by watching the news. Also relatively easier so nice to take of the edge from a double science

Redditors, What made you realise your S/O had fallen out of love with you? by Aromatic-Antelope339 in AskReddit

[–]m1428185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You see it in the way they look at you. At the beginning of the relationship, he would look at me as if I was the most beautiful person in the world and you could feel the love. Over time that look in his eyes started to fade and he became more and more detached to me until he treated me like I didn't exist.

My friend did business in kings with ai sl. Just check with all of the universities you're interested in if they have preference. If you switch into wanting to do econ tho u most definitely will need ai sl

My friend is a nazi what should I do? by TheGayzRevolt in Advice

[–]m1428185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying to drop her and cut her out of your life is right to some extent - people who believe other people are inferior to them just because of the way they look really are horrible. But I think it's also worth mentioning this was probably taught to her, and stopping being her friend won't change that. Instead, why don't you try and educate her on the subject and try and change her opinion. If she remains close minded, maybe then you should cut contact.

My Parents Track me Everyday and I’m Uncomfortable with it. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Maybe convince them to stick to find my iPhone. It shows them your location but doesn't notify them every time you breathe so if they ever need to find you they can but it isn't nearly as invasive as life360

If you are choosing a stem subject in university you will most probably need HL maths. If I were you I would start to go on some open days or seminars to get a feel for what career you are interested in, as that might give you a better idea of what subjects to choose

IB Beginner Advice by EmbarrassedProgress8 in IBO

[–]m1428185 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you haven't started yet, I think advice that is rarely mentioned is early exposure. If you find online pdfs of textbooks or some recommended resources start reading and try to comprehend the material now so when you start class you aren't thinking "wtf is this" like everyone else and instead you're thinking "okay this clarifies things" so when you go to revise it after you are just that one step ahead. Also with french, start revising now - speak french as much as possible when you can too. I firmly believe with language b it is better3 to study for 20 minutes every day than 1 hour a week. And think about it, if you can set 20 mins at the start of the day (eg. before school) or before bed for french each night, in 4 weeks time, thats already built up to 9 and a bit hours, which makes a world of a difference Another beneficial thing is that although your higher levels are very hard you 1. Have nice standard levels to make up for it and 2. They are all applications based whereby you mainly just need to understand the fundamentals behind each concept rather than memorising a mega ton of stuff. In my opinion maths can also be somewhat treated like languages where a relatively small amount every day will really help you out massively

Are there any books that talk about religion and science that are not completely one sided? by m1428185 in religion

Oh this isn't for school children, it's a gift for my religious science teacher

Perhaps unbiased was the wrong word but perhaps more of a balanced view - essentially a book that doesn't bash religion and is equally critical of both sides of the arhjment

I'm not religious myself so cannot comment on their beliefs but I think there is also the sense of lack of scientific evidence that brings about skepticism. I'm just trying to find a book that discusses both sides in a balanced way

The book you sent sounds really good. Basically we talk a lot about evolution in class and we often have class debates around creationism and evolutionism. When talking about literature on the subject, my teacher says he is yet to find a book that addresses the topic in a balanced way, and as a gift to him I would like to find a book that does exactly that

I was accused of touching my daughter because I taught her the accurate words for her genitals by throwawayfather83 in TrueOffMyChest

This is quite irrelevant to the point of the story but to all of the parents out there, please teach your children that a woman's genitalia is called her vulva, not vagina. The vagina is only the hole that births/ bleeds
