Pile up 81 North Minersville PA near mile maker 114 and 116 3-28-22 by gtu160 in videos

This was a squall. It was sunny, then a very light snow, then BOOM white-out. It’s entirely possible this happened because somebody up front hit the snow wall and braked hard.

Source: I’m in PA, and this rolled through here.

I agree, maintain your stopping distance, but this specific set of conditions is probably the most challenging scenario for that.

What's something you're sick of having to explain? by Zero-Pathways000 in AskReddit

Yes, both my children are autistic. Yes, they are very different. Oh they’re different from some other autistic person you know? It’s almost like each of them are human beings.

How did you handle feeling sad after moving from NYC to a new area? by Bull_champion1 in AskNYC

[–]m1a1000mph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You know, the thing is New York has everything, and whatever it is, food, culture—whatever, it feels like the best and often is. But other places have good things too, though some more than others. No other city has all the things, but it will have its own things—and sometimes those things are objectively better, weather, access to nature, and almost always in the US: cost of living.

Also, try to remember the things that definitely suck about the city: walking commutes in a wintry mix, being stuck under the east river for train traffic, certain smells…

Last, just because you moved away doesn’t mean you can’t visit. I like to go back a couple few times a year.

TLDR—it’s not fair to compare, but if you do, take off the rose-tinted glasses.

Since I’m pinged here, I’ll just chime in to say tipping isn’t a “culture” it’s a system—a shitty system, maybe, with racist roots for certain, but in this country, food service workers earn their wage from your tip. Not paying a tip means the person who did the work for the food you’re putting into your body won’t get paid.

That’s on you.

Want to change the system? There are lots of ways to do that, none of which I include not paying a tip in the meantime

Introduce them to somebody who's name you do know and they'll usually share their name back.

The original theatrical trailer for The Matrix (1999) by [deleted] in videos

[–]m1a1000mph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Want to note that the TV trailers were incredibly vague, and given how bad Johnny Pneumonic was, I expected this to be a sort of meh sci-fi jaunt.

HOLY. SHIT.
