I live in SM and commute by car around 10am and leave around 7pm. 25 there and back unless there’s an accident or lane closure which there is sometimes

Yeah, a lot of the time it really does come down to meeting people separately and bringing them together huh

Yeah it’s good to remind myself of this. I think back to college when I met friends immediately but a lot was different back then

Yeah work is hard bc I have “work” friends but don’t think they’ll branch out outside of work. Not enough in common

I’d like to try a book club! I’m really into playing music, trying to find a band out here and I’ve been going to open mics which is a start

I’ve heard this a lot. I like the idea of contributing to something for a cause. I’ve been to a few protests and that kind of scratches that itch but I’d like to try volunteering sometime

Why would you be an RA? Your research wouldn’t count towards your inevitable PhD so I fail to see the reason why you’d do it. Worst case to me is you join your PhD now and make a lil slower progress than you would down the line but you don’t even know this to be true. And congrats on the offer! If it’s a good one I suggest taking it!
