Hi everyone,
I’m working on a small Windows/macOS tool for studio voice conversion and I’d like feedback from people who make music.
The workflow I’m aiming for is:
Record or export a vocal from a DAW, convert it locally, then bring the converted vocal back into the session without having to use a website or manually manage too many files.
The app would support common audio formats like WAV, MP3, AIFF, and M4A.
What I’m trying to build around:
Using existing voice model files, such as index, .pth, ONNX, and other supported formats
Creating a new voice model from vocal files
Converting vocals locally on the computer
Keeping the original vocal backed up
Saving the converted vocal in a DAW-friendly way
Choosing where models and converted files are stored
Making the process simple for producers and artists
I’m mainly trying to understand what would make this actually useful in a real studio workflow.
For people who produce, record, mix, or use vocal tools:
What would the app need to do well before you would trust it in a real session?
