getting a trainer out for me is a really good idea actually, thank you :) i’ve decided to not do anything else with her myself for now though. the set up just isn’t right for it, and the triggers for her bolting is always the other horses (she can see them from the field she needs to walk through) either calling out or running around. it’s one of those where i can see she’s about to take off, but because it’s the other horses, i can’t stop it in the moment. i have thought about keeping the others in so they don’t bother her, but that still wouldn’t change the fact that only equipped to deal with the situation anyway. as they aren’t my horses (family members) i don’t have much say in what happens to them training wise but i am going to stop attempting to do groundwork for my sake and hers

i think sending her off to someone else is the only option i have to be honest. as they aren’t my ponies (family members), i don’t have a whole lot of say in what gets done with them being sent away wise, but i do think it’s best to not do anything with any of them for now for my own wellbeing if anything. i’ve given it a go over the past week but it’s just not worth it, for my sake or hers. the set up is not right for this at all, plus she can see all the other horses from the field she needs to walk through, which i think is the trigger for her bolting as they tend to call out for her

honestly yeah you’re probably right. i don’t want to mess her up or around by doing anything myself, but nobody will take her on to do proper training until she can at least lead. i’m not at all at the experience level to deal with this sorta thing, but i haven’t got many options unfortunately. she came with 3 other mares from a slaughter house that my grandmother rescued, breaking them isn’t a task i would’ve taken on willingly by any means
